I'm going to make it this time!

Hi Everyone,
I've been gaining at least 5-10 pounds for the past five years. Each year I would make a promise to lose the weight. What started out at 5 extra pounds is now 50. I'm so embarrassed. I'm only comfortable in clothing that has elastic. Walking by a glass display window is agonizing.
Reading the personal triumphs on SP has given me the hope and motivation that will help me get back to a healthy weight.

My Goals:
My daily goals are:

8-10 glasses of water

Cardio- 45min - 2hrs

1200 - 1500 cal intake

add mufas to my diet

try to stick to the Mediterranean diet

exchanged carbonated water for green tea

stay connected with Spark for motivation

Maintain a positive attitude.



My Program:
I started the program by walking 2 miles a day outdoors.

Had to adjust because of hip-

I'm exercising more indoors - aerobic and strength training . I've stocked up on good foods- eating smaller portions- minus the salt.

I track my calories throughout the day so that I stay within my plan

Personal Information:
I was born in Brooklyn, NY, grew up on Staten Island, NY, and have been living in Manhattan for over thirty years. I'm a NYC middle school social studies teacher, who works in the So. Bronx. I also teach Adult Ed. (Basic Ed./ GED) 3x a week from 6-9pm.

Other Information:
I enjoy walking with my dog Leasha, taking interesting pictures, reading non-fiction, and watching comedies.

Most of all I enjoy teaching and being with positive thinking people.

Hi Marlene 150. Thank u for the spark goodie. It's been alot of. Work but Iu can do it too. I love Zumba and to walk as I can. But it is a challeng don't give up it is all achievable emoticon emoticon

How are things going?

You know this is a long journey we are traveling and we have to just hang in there. Yes, we have our setbacks,but just keep holding on and don't give up. It will get easy after awhile.
