5% Winter Challenge Commitment I will exercise 6 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes for the 56 days of the challenge. I will follow the Slow Carb life style. I will record my daily exercise and Living the Good Life Points, and on Saturday mornings I will weigh in and record it. I will check in with my team daily and leave a comment on the Discussion Board. I will read and comment on blogs as I have time. GOAL: Begin SP's 5% Fall Challenge 2/?/13. Increase strength/endurance/balance...build muscle, lose inches, and lose 10 more #...Strengthen my back and legs. A friend (KADYDIDI) from our quilting guild introduced me to SP. I joined in August 2008, but didn't get around to doing this page until January 2009 when I signed up for the New You Bootcamp Challenge with my second daughter. I have struggled with weight issues for a while (since before the birth of my youngest-now 33). I want to get healthy, which includes losing some weight to help out my arthritis in my back, knees, and feet. I herniated 3 discs in my lower back causing some nerve damage in February 2010 and am still trying to rebuild my strength. I thank the Lord that I can finally walk right after 2 years! I was eating clean, but hit a plateau-so, I switched to slow carb (4HB) and have lost another 28.5 lbs. as of 2/4/13.

My Goals:
To lose 20 lbs. Met 3/09 To lose another 20 lbs. to reduce the weight load on my feet, knees, and back. Met 10/11 To lose another 20 lbs. before summer. To eat slow carb 6 days a week. To swim 2-3 days a week. Weight training on hold until I get doctor clearance due to herniated lumbar discs.
My Program:
I swim and walk in the pool 3-4 times a week for 60 minutes. Kettlebells are on hold till I recover a bit more. I eat protein, veggies, and beans 3 meals/day, 6 days a week.
Personal Information:
God has blessed me with 3 children (2 daughters-1 son)and 4 grandchildren (3 g-sons, 1 g-daughter), and Spark People. My team mates so far have been great! I was also blessed to have Christian parents who have gone on to be with the Lord and 3 great sisters-one a marathon runner (not me!)
Other Information:
In my spare time, I quilt, study Japanese language, go to Bible study, and swim! I also enjoy my plumeria and pineapple plants.
