Life is for those that show up

Laura Ingalls Wilder once wrote: " The Little House books are stories of long ago. Today our way of living and our schools are much different;so many things have made living and learning easier.
But the real things haven't changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have;to be happy with the simple pleasures and to be cheerful and have courage when things go wrong."

Thanks for the goodie Mary. I LOVE having you as a friend and was glad to see you do so well in this challenge also. Some times a challenge causes stress and we backslide but we did well. Let's keep going in the right direction, shall we ? I want to join all the gals in onderland.

Hello Friend! Breezy here, no more gale force winds, thank you very much. We had terrible grass fires here; no one hurt thank God. Have a great day and weekend coming up. emoticon

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I should have been more detailed, but those SP friends already have heard the story.
In Jan 2013, I was at the height of my weight loss. I was down 70 lbs and doing so great, Walking an hour and up to two hours every day. Then one day I went to the walking track and about 30 mins in, I heard and felt a loud crack in my left foot.
No real pain, but as I took a couple more steps, that was all she wrote.
I could barely hobble to my car about 20 yards away, luckily for me, my best friend had come to walk with me that day and was there to help.
Which also, as I am a believer in things happening for a reason, I always walk alone.
I never invited anyone to walk as I like to listen to music and not talk to anyone.
Well, anyway, I had a stress fracture and it was bad, no surgery, but for the rest of 2013, I could not walk, I had to wear a boot for months and then a bone growth stimulator for up to 9 hours a day every day.
I became depressed and down and began to return to bad eating habits.
After months of no results, I was tested and found to be vitamin d deficient. So, I was put on a regimen of vitamin d and finally I began to heal. But it was still around early 2014 before I could return to normal walking. And sometimes, with cold rainy weather, I get aches in that foot. I have just been noticing the last few times I have walked that my feet tend to ache and I fear another break could occur. I hope your issues arent as bad as mine. Have your vitamin d tested, it causes so many health issues and most of us arent even aware.
