Part 1 - My word of the year for 2017 is BELIEVE. Somewhere along the line in 2016 I lost my belief in me, what I can do, who I can be. This year I will direct my actions into BELIEVING in myself. That will start with achieving my goals for the year and for our 5% Challenges.

What I've learned are challenging things for me:
1. I don't take care of myself...so need a plan to do that.
2. I am in control of my work hours so I need to learn to say "no."
3. I need to be my best advocate - particularly at work but also with friends.
4. That it is okay to not make everything better for everyone else.
5. Motivation to take care of me needs work.

What I know works:
1. I feel good about me after walking with my neighbor.
2. I need time away from people associated with work, even if they have become friends.
3. Morning meditation helps start the day on the right side.
4. Quiet time at home with Katie is healing.
5. When I eat healthy, I feel healthy.

The Plan:
1. Scheduling at least 2 morning walks per week.
2. Do strength training 4 days per week
3. Spending time with friends not affiliated with work.
4. My first 15 minutes of the day (after feeding Katie) will be spent in meditation.
5. Keep healthy snacks on hand.
6. Plan healthy meals at least 24 hours ahead.

This is my 2017 Winter 5% Challenge Plan.

2. Eat healthy - 3 smaller meals plus 3 snacks daily.
3. Track nutrition daily.
4. Do 15 minutes of strength training 4 days per week.
5. Do 30 minutes of focused walking at least 2 days per week.
6. Track exercise daily
7. Acknowledge blessings through blogging.
