Hello, my name is Maya and I have lost 30 lbs since 2009. I am learning a lot about what foods my body wants and doesn't want. The more I learn, the stronger I am and the better I feel, as I apply the nutritional and other knowledge to my life and eating habits. I am continually seeking new knowledge and trying new things. One new piece of knowledge seems to lead to another. I hope someday to be at peace with eating and my weight and feel healthy and well.

Would love to be back to my fighting weight of 150 lb or so.

I do not eat gluten. I rarely eat dairy. I eat eggs infrequently. Now I'm working on reducing fructose & sugar-containing items.

I consider myself Paleo.

My dietary gurus are Perlmutter, Kresser, Virgin, and O'Bryen.

Thanks for the comment on my blogs. If you were making huge efforts to get better and nothing seems to give results, maybe you too would try to use some numbers to get insight. It was pretty weird for me to feel I am doing well, and eating only when hungry, and then seeing that I ate a lot more calories than, among others, SP was telling me to. Then figuring out that maybe I am burning a lot more calories does explain it to me some. You see it was alarming to me that I was eating just enough going by my body's instructions, but supposedly 'eating way too much'!
I was reminded of my teen years when I really was starving myself, fighting hunger every day, to lose weight, using a daily amount of calories that was brutal for someone still growing. That situation really messed up my eating for the rest of my life so far so I truly want some clarity.

Hi friend, thanks for your comments on my blog. I have read TONS of books and articles on the topic... sadly, there is not a one-size-fits-all answer apparently. So, I have not found something that truly helps me yet.
