I am happiest when I'm in the garden. My problems and disappointments vanish once I step out to plant, weed, water or prune. It's my sanctuary.

To lead by example: so my husband and kids maximize their health by incorporating good nutrition and exercise into their daily routines. To raise healthy independent boys, who find happiness in their careers and relationships. To make my corner of the world a lot prettier. To give comfort and encouragement to people I live with, and interact with, without being smothering, and without being a freaking pushover. To recognize and stand up to prejudice and injustice.

Welcome Back to SP! I find the same peace in my garden too. I lived in Virginia a few years back and have a niece in Odenton, MD. So green out your way. Have a great week.

Thanks for the comment on my page. I will consider what you said. I noticed the "boy" picture on your page: you ~are~ a good nurturer! (See my Mindful Mothering blog on gardening kids!) And I so agree about the garden being the best place to rejuvenate and recharge. May all you plant grow strong and healthy.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I, too, have read the warnings about treated lumber and don't think they make sense. If the chemicals are going to leach in any significant amount (which I doubt), they will leach down, not sideways. Also, the water runs down and out of my beds, not the other way around. It probably helps that it never rains in CO! LOL! Thanks for taking the time to help.
