I found spark people in september 2009 and I am totally fascinated - there are not many days that I have not logged in so far.

I have found that support from people who are struggling with the same issues as me, really helps.

In new year 2014 I am struggling and taking two step forwards, one step back and making great plans for 2014...

My Goals:
i want to live in recovery from compulsive overeating. I want to develope as a person into being everything I am supposed to be


My Program:
To attend 12-step meetings at least one time a week
To plan and follow a healthy mealplan - three meals a day and nothing in between
30 minutes of activity aty least three times a weeik
To plan my day and prevent failure by being proactive to things that experience has shown leads to failure.

    Saw in your profile on the side that you plan for three meals a day and nothing in between. That was the recommendation nearly 30 years ago when I went for a short time to OA. I thought they were crazy at the time. I heard later that they changed it several times over the years. Turns out it is quite workable most days for me. I've never been sorry I waited for a meal.

    Thank you for taking the time to comment on my page; it's always good to hear from you. Part of my success this last time was surrendering, in 2001 I gave up all goals but health. I committed to counting calories, allowing up to 2000 calories a day--maintenance level. That commitment spawned my one rule: NO MINDLESS EATING. Over time some foods proved to just not be worth the calories as I do not like to be hungry! Foods that I can't control are enjoyed out; not kept in my house. I've embraced the importance of being active. I slowly lost weight and it took 5 years for my weight to settle at what has always seemed a healthy weight for me and now I try to stay within a few pounds of that, leaving room for normal fluctuations. I've done that a little over nine years now. I keep it simple. Most difficult challenge is social, I no longer eat to make other people more comfortable. Those close to me accept that. You will find your path; don't let others sway you. Your health is worth the effort!
