this is my journey to lose 100 lbs, become an effective an inspirational teacher, and achieve balance (work/fun) (work/family) (active/relaxed) in my life.

I have lofty goals but the balance is the most important. I am back to school striving to become a good teacher but do not want to neglect my daughter in the process. It is easy to confuse priority and urgency and I am still figuring that one out. Above all I don't want to give up on my health.

My Goals:
My goals are to lose 100 lbs, become an effective teacher, and keep my debts as low as possible.

My mini goals are to lose 10% of my weight, stay on top of my courses without having to cram at the end and put it into practice when I am teaching, and this summer do as much overtime as possible and get my credit cards down as low as possible.

Personal Information:
I am a mother, and mature student. I am learning to be a teacher which is all consuming at times and am constantly searching for balance in my life. I would like to have the energy to teach high school effectively and would like to enjoy my daughter's youth before it is gone.

Hi! I'm a "late in life" teacher. I spent 15 years in corporate America before dropping/selling everything to go back to school to be a teacher. I've never regretted my decision. I got my certificate 4 years ago and finally signed a contract a year ago. I thought I wanted to do middle school so I did my practicum in 7th grade and 1st grade. I've done long-term subbing in K and 1st and really enjoyed both. I'm teaching 3rd and love it. Keep an open mind when it comes to grade level. You might be surprised where you find your niche.
