“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” - Mahatma Ghandi

After battling my weight most of my life (highest weight around 200 pounds) I'd like to say I've finally under control but it's still a journey. I continue to educate myself about the obesity under which I suffered so long so that I can help others avoid or escape the same fate.

After battling my weight most of my life (highest weight around 200 pounds) I'd like to say I've finally under control but it's still a journey. I continue to educate myself about the obesity under which I suffered so long so that I can help others avoid or escape the same fate.

I was recently blessed to be shown a film that's changed everything about the way I nourish myself, my family and has shattered my faith in our government and our health and fitness industry. I now am on a mission to share it.

The documentary Fat Head http://www.hulu.com/watch/196879/fat-head bravely revealed to the world that the US's current nutrition policy is based on a flawed scientific study, and the consequent misinformation it produced has caused tragic results worldwide. The movie Sugar: The Bitter Truth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM further expounds on this disaster.

As it seems that our government is unwilling to admit and take steps to correct this monumental error, my new goal is to urge everyone to educate themselves. Please watch these movies and govern yourselves accordingly.

As a result of this information I now follow a mostly Paleolithic diet which attempts to mimic to way man may have eaten before the Agricultural Revolution. This primarily consists of meat, fish, poultry, fruit, nuts and vegetables; is void of refined sugar, grains, legumes, processed foods and dairy and is naturally low in carbohydrates compared to the SAD (Standard American Diet).

Here is a great site that explains the ins and outs of the Paleo Diet. http://paleodietlifestyle.com/

Now, more about me.

I'd been overweight most of my life. My highest weight was around 200 pounds. During my 30's I made my first successful attempt to change that. Through portion control and exercise, I lost a significant amount of weight but I would get close to goal, get comfortable and yo-yo up and down 10 pounds. In 2008 I made a goal to finally reach my goal and be in the best shape of my life for my 40th birthday. It was an incredible, faith building journey.

One of my "Gurus" Tom Venuto teaches:
"By visualizing your fat loss or fitness goal as already achieved, you are giving your subconscious mind instructions that will cause you to automatically begin acting in a way consistent with your mental image. "

As such...

I awake every morning, eager to bless my body with at least an hour of temple maintenance (exercise).

My 21% body fat, 110 lb, body is lean, strong and limber, made so by consistent cardiovascular and muscle building exercise enhanced by flexibility exercises such as yoga and Pilates.

I plan and document my nutritional intake in order to observe the effect it has on my body and therefore, my desired goal.

I hydrate my body with fresh water throughout to day to support my liver function which is essential in fat burning.

I sleep 6- 8 hours each night to facilitate muscle growth and maintain consistent functionality throughout the day.

These are the affirmations that will help me keep site of my current gifts and my future goals.

Personal Information:
After a lifetime of being "the fat chick" fitness is now my passion. No gyms, no personal trainers; I am a complete DVD devotee.

My 200+ collection spans kickboxing (fav), dance, step, spinning, rebounding, weight training, yoga and Pilates.

My "gym" equipment includes a weight bench, stability ball, step, Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells, Weighted gloves, Body Bar, barbell, spin bike, rebounder, treadmill, elliptical machine, yoga blocks and mat.

I am a testament to the fact that you don't have to leave your house to get in shape.

Just DO It!!
