I want to get Healthy & Active!

Hi,
My name is Mary and I am a young 62 years old. I have some health issues and need a double knee replacement, but first must lose weight so it is all easier to do and to recuperate. I am attractive and look younger than I am. I am married and want to play a more active role in activities than I can now as a disabled woman! I want to be more active and involved in life!

Thank you for stopping by my blog! Right now I am reading Factory Girls by Leslie T. Chang, about the young women who work in the factories of China; very interesting and eye opening too.

We will definitely work on this together. We'll start by reminding each other that the object isn't (never was, never will be) perfection. Just progress.

HOLY CRAP!

You're right!!! It is perfectionism!!! It seriously, 100% is absolutely my idea of doing the "perfect" workout.

Thanks for commenting on my blog. The book, "Suddenly Skinny..." is really motivarting, I read more of it last night. Even though I have done and continue to do most of the things she details in her book to lose weight for the long term, I find it inspirational to read about it. I really think food can be an addiction, and I have classic symptoms of this addiction. I think about food all the time, I obsess over it, I crave sugar and carbs and it's a constant battle within myself to avoid the bad stuff. Ms. Taylor in "Suddenly Skinny," says she feels food is a tougher addiction to beat than heroin. Admittedly, she knows nothing about drug addictions, (neither do I) but it's obvious that food is something we have to eat to live, while drugs are something we can avoid altogether in fighting an addiction we might have. So food becomes something we addicts have to find a way to handle, rather than avoid altogether. How hard is that? VERY! But I continue to work on it, and am more determined than ever to lose this regain. With your help and the help of my other Spark friends, I can do it AGAIN!!! I WILL get back to my goal weight!!!
