Getting Fit in Mexico

Hola, my name is Sallie and I am retired and living in Ajijic, Mexico. Ajijic, Mexico is about 40 minutes outside of Guadalajara. It's a small artist village along a 50 mile lake in the mountains. Hola, my name is Sallie and I am retired and living in Ajijic, Mexico. Ajijic, Mexico is about 40 minutes outside of Guadalajara. It's a small artist village along a 50 mile lake in the mountains. My challenge living here is figuring out the calorie and fat content of the Mexican cuisine. Mexico does not have the same nutritional labeling laws as the USA. The good news is that there are plenty of wonderful fruits and vegetables to select from. Now if only margaritas could count as a nutritional fruit, I would be in heaven! I am serious about loosing the last 10 pounds and getting into shape to stay healthy.

Most people don't realize that I have struggled my whole life with weight. When I frist went to a diet program at age 20, I weigh in at around 185. I have a hard time finding "before photos". I must have destroyed the evidence. But if you think I never had a weight problem, check out my photos and the last one titled 'A "Tail" of Two "Butts" and you will get a sense of where I have come from.

My Goals:
To eat right, exercise and be healthy and happy. Not too much to ask, right! Now that I have found Sparks that will be easier. Don�t want to end up like many of my relatives who ended up overweight and with many health problems. I was on my way to being just like them. Many do not know that I was once close to 200 pounds on a very small frame. Lost the bulk of the weight 30 years ago but continue to struggle daily with weight and constantly think about food all the time.

My Program:
Walk dog daily up and down the mountain we live on and track it on SP. 45 minute walk. Track everything I eat on SP Nutrition. Log into SP daily for motivation.

Personal Information:
Moved from the Seattle area 4 years ago to Ajijic, Mexico after selling my software design company. Fortunate to retire early to land of eternal spring. Now very active and busy with the many charities here at lakeside. Just trying to give back a little.the internet.

Other Information:
Love living in Ajijic. Wonderful artistic community with great people. Excited about finding SP and connecting with many other wonderful people who are challenged with weight issues as well.
