Getting Fit in Mexico

Hola, my name is Sallie and I am retired and living in Ajijic, Mexico. Ajijic, Mexico is about 40 minutes outside of Guadalajara. It's a small artist village along a 50 mile lake in the mountains. My challenge living here is figuring out the calorie and fat content of the Mexican cuisine. Mexico does not have the same nutritional labeling laws as the USA. The good news is that there are plenty of wonderful fruits and vegetables to select from. Now if only margaritas could count as a nutritional fruit, I would be in heaven! I am serious about loosing the last 10 pounds and getting into shape to stay healthy.

Most people don't realize that I have struggled my whole life with weight. When I frist went to a diet program at age 20, I weigh in at around 185. I have a hard time finding "before photos". I must have destroyed the evidence. But if you think I never had a weight problem, check out my photos and the last one titled 'A "Tail" of Two "Butts" and you will get a sense of where I have come from.

My Goals:
To eat right, exercise and be healthy and happy. Not too much to ask, right! Now that I have found Sparks that will be easier. Don’t want to end up like many of my relatives who ended up overweight and with many health problems. I was on my way to being just like them. Many do not know that I was once close to 200 pounds on a very small frame. Lost the bulk of the weight 30 years ago but continue to struggle daily with weight and constantly think about food all the time.

My Program:
Walk dog daily up and down the mountain we live on and track it on SP. 45 minute walk. Track everything I eat on SP Nutrition. Log into SP daily for motivation.

Personal Information:
Moved from the Seattle area 4 years ago to Ajijic, Mexico after selling my software design company. Fortunate to retire early to land of eternal spring. Now very active and busy with the many charities here at lakeside. Just trying to give back a little.the internet.

Other Information:
Love living in Ajijic. Wonderful artistic community with great people. Excited about finding SP and connecting with many other wonderful people who are challenged with weight issues as well.

Thank you for the calming teapot! I may just get a couple of zzzz's in later today, hopefully. Yes, I hope it will make it easier for you to help hubby out with his goal for the upcoming wedding.

Have a great day! emoticon

Okay. I received another email response from the technical support about adding your hubby. They say that you can still use your regular email account and just open up another spark page for him.

So you can have more that one person using the same email account.

Now that would make it really simple.

So open up another email account using your email account that you use for spark people.

THEN just block the emails from spark people on HIS ACCOUNT ONLY AND THEN SET THAT PAGE TO PRIVATE.

I hope t his helps.

I am really glad that they got back with me on this one because this will simplify it for you. That way you can open up his account and your account separately to log in food, ect., but only using just one email account.

Have a great day! emoticon

PS. I'm up early as I can't sleep. I'm on prednisone for poison ivy! Ugh!

Open up a new email account for him using your present email website such as Hotmail. com or lookout.com. With your new email account for him, you can block all the spark emails. Simple enough. But he will get a welcome to sparks from Chris Spark. So see where it goes.

So set up a page with a name for him. Choose whatever name for the spark page you want for him. And then set his page to "private". That will eliminate a lot of hassle for you with people wanting to be "friends" with him.

You can block the spark mail from your new email account for him. That's how to do it.

Granted, you will have to have an email name, and an email password for this separate account. Just write them down in your log where you keep all your passwords for websites and such.

That way you can check this new email box which has been set up in your name as your account, you will be able to just delete any additional emails you may get from the the email website, whether it's Hotmail.com or outlook.com or any other one. And that is easy to do.

Just check it every so often, and delete all the extra emails. There won't be much.

I have another email account for another purpose and I use it for just that purpose only, nothing else so I don't get many emails on that one.

Hope this helps you.

Have a great day! And I think it's awesome that he wants to lose weight! emoticon
