I am a happily married 46 year old mother of one teenage daughter living in coastal British Columbia, Canada. I am a carb sensitive/food addict and as long as I remember, I have battled my weight. From a brief, expensive adult low weight of 155 pounds in 2006 (and a 1 hour 48 minute and 32 second half marathon time) - over the last 6 years I have gained 10+ pounds per year to achieve an all time high of 259 pounds in April of this year.

We moved from the city to the countryside five years ago and built a house. I was introduced to my friend Peri-menopause, I stopped running and while I learned a lot about rural living (making wine and pies) and pygmy goats I let my fitness not only come last but fall right off the list! (Let's call this being on 'the pie and wine plan'!)

I am motivated to address potential health challenges (joint pain, digestion, hormones, blood sugar...) that result from obesity, to be fit and active and enjoy EVERYTHING that is available to me in this life. My plan is strict LCHF and I want to complete an Iron Man Triathlon before I turn 50 in 2017.

Very strict low carb. No alcohol. Lots of exercise. Reading all the Dr. Attia and friends I can find.
