I am called Raffie and I've been a member since the end of May 09 now and have come on here most days to blog, log food or exercise and chat on the community forums. Its all very motivating. I live in Norfolk, UK, with my Husband and 4 dogs. I am in love with my new job as a PA in a Guitar Academy. Great fun and I literally get to play!

I have been married to KENJAK for years, we get along nicely. I gave him a kidney back in 08 but it has since packed in.

We have just moved into a 2 bedroomed, ground floor flat with a huge garden, so lots of gardening to do. Closer to the City than before, only a quick 3 mile cycle ride each way. Closer to the hospital too, for Kenjack's dialysis.

I have a small cycling addiction and have 2 bikes, my fabulous Planet X Carbon road bike, which weighs a mere 7.75kg. I have my Winter bike, also a Planet X but a Cyclocross bike, so a bit tougher than the roadie and I can go off or on road on him. He weighs in a a whopping 8.2kg :-D There are barely any hills in Norfolk but the off road riding is fun and flat-ish.
Having shifted 33lbs or so, using Exante - a very low calorie diet of bars, shakes and food packs, I've now joined Slimming World as the VLCD thing was not sustainable for me, with all the exercise I do. With SW I need to shift another 7-10lbs and then maintain. That's the plan, at least. This stuffing your face to lose weigh plan is a tad weird but I am assured, by other Sparkies, that it works. Fine by me.
So that's me then. I'd love to chat to other Sparkies if you have the time. Anyone who'd like to friend me is more than welcome to.

My Goals:
To see 11 stone something on the scales. Every 7lb I lose, I shall buy myself a new CD.

10 stone something - new wardrobe
Anything less is a bonus and we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Ultimately I'd like to be 147lbs so working down to it.

My Program:
My programme mostly consists of riding my bike and walking for the aerobic side of things. Bodyweight exercises in my home office.
I can't afford a gym so home exercising works well for me. My iPod is very helpful for working out with.

Personal Information:
I live in Norwich, UK. I am a Scot by birth but live in England as the Highlands are too cold for me.

Other Information:
I am a guitarist with a deep love of Eric Johnson. I love my dogs, cycling and walking. I like to curl up with a good movie on a rainy day, a good book is even better.

Glad you loved the Diet Cola Chicken, don't forget you can vary this meal by swapping the Diet Cola for either Diet Fanta, Diet Lilt or Diet Ginger Beer. Fabulous.

Hi,

Here's the recipe for the Meat and egg loaf, I used 500g bag of Quorn, a bit extra of puree, herbs & spices & 2 eggs. I also used 3 hard boiled eggs. Unfortunately it didn't hold together like the meat one did but it was so tasty, we're going to use it as a Yuk Sung with lettuce leaves.

Serves: 4
Ready in: Over 60 Minutes
Syns per serving:FREE
SP Perfect for Extra Easy SP

ingredients

350g lean beef mince (5% fat or less)
1 level tbsp tomato purée
Freshly ground black pepper
Pinch grated nutmeg
Pinch dried thyme
1 large egg, raw
1 small onion, finely chopped
½ level tsp salt
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Pinch allspice
1 level tsp finely chopped parsley
2 hard boiled eggs

method

Pre-heat oven to 190°C/170°C Fan/Gas 5. Mix all the ingredients together, except the hard boiled eggs.
Shape into a flat rectangle and place the hard boiled eggs down the centre.
Roll the meat mixture around the eggs, using fingers. Place in a small loaf tin, cover with foil and cook for 45-55 minutes.
Remove the foil and cook for a further 10 minutes to brown the top.

Tip: For an Extra Easy SP day fill at least half of your plate with delicious Speed salad or vegatables, of your choice.

Hiya Raffie,Chris' health not good.He had to have the fistula redone with about a 30 cm incision and that will take a few weeks to settle down before starting dialysis.He's been vomiting but won't tell Neph. as he doesn't want dialysis in neck. LoveR
