I am called Raffie and I've been a member since the end of May 09 now and have come on here most days to blog, log food or exercise and chat on the community forums. Its all very motivating. I live in Lincolnshire UK, with my dog, Toffee, a Saluki cross. We live near to the Viking Trail, so good for walking and cycling. Gainfully employed as a Customer Service bod for an exceedingly large company.
.
I have a small cycling addiction and have 2 bikes, my fabulous Planet X Carbon road bike, which weighs a mere 7.75kg. I have my Winter bike, also a Planet X but a Cyclocross bike, so a bit tougher than the roadie and I can go off or on road on him. He weighs in a a whopping 8.7kg :-D
The new bike to my 'stable' is a lightweight Reynolds 531 Steel Road bike of some 35 years of age. Built to race and boy, does that bike fly. He is called PeeBee - Purple Bike - and is my current 'go to' bike for riding. I might just be a little bit smitten with him.

I have been known to go kayaking and even to do a bit of jogging, from time to time, if my daft achilles will let me.

So that's me then. I'd love to chat to other Sparkies if you have the time. Anyone who'd like to friend me is more than welcome to.

My Goals:
To see 11 stone something on the scales. Every 7lb I lose, I shall buy myself a new CD. I have been through this goal, bought a lot of CDs and have the entire back catalogue of Eric Johnson's work :-)

10 stone something - new wardrobe
Anything less is a bonus and we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Ultimately I'd like to be 147lbs so working down to it. Currently maintaing 142lbs, so that's pretty cool.

My Program:
My programme mostly consists of riding my bike and walking for the aerobic side of things. Bodyweight exercises when nobody is looking at work, using the fencing, walls and anything else handy
I can't afford a gym so home exercising works well for me too. My iPod is very helpful for working out with.

Personal Information:
I live in Lincolnshire, UK. I am a Scot by birth but live in England as the Highlands are too cold for me.

Other Information:
I am a guitarist with a deep love of Eric Johnson. I love my dog, cycling and walking. I am quite fond of the boyfriend and I like to curl up with a good movie on a rainy day, a good book is even better.

Raffie thank you very much for the Friend Add, could hardly believe we weren't official friends - ha ha!

Thanks for your comment on my blog, I too will be writing that thought on my fridge!!

I did go to WI tonight and was bang on my Target Weight so emoticon emoticon and after Christmas a bit lucky! I don't always go to WI as I don't have to now I am at target, but must be within 3lbs either way of my target weight to not have to pay!

    Thanks for your support xxx

I've just laughed out loud reading your reply to my question on the Team post yesterday. I've not heard anyone use 'heckaslike' since I left Yorkshire many years ago.
    Thanks

*chuckle* @ the suits. I used to work in Insurance [forgive me sister, I was young and knew not what I did]. In my early twenties, I started a new job at an Insurance Brokers. A few days in and one of the main 'suits' entered our office and suggested we all went out for a Chinese Lunch on Friday as usual. I agreed thinking I should try and mix with my work colleagues.

Come the day, everyone who was meant to be going was unavailable for one reason or another, except me and The Suit. Naturally I said it was quite OK to postpone etc but no, no, no, he was adamant we should still go. So we did. And omg - boring or what?! He looked attractive in his expensive suit but had the personality of a strip of wallpaper.

And then it came to paying the bill. I had my purse out to pay my half, he was insistent he should pay. Initially I argued, but though I was young[ish] I realised I'd been set up so I decided sod it, yes you can bloody well pay for the food.

I subsequently found out my suspicions were correct and the usual 'Friday Chinese Lunch' had only ever happened on one occasion, plus schedules had been manipulated etc. 'Suits' eh - slimey sods!

Pleased you've had your anxiety buster ride - I do totally get that. And your beer.
