Time to get serious!

Spring brought a health wake-up call, with blood sugars out of whack! Now I am trying to eat healthier and exercise more, but the weight doesn't budge much. I don't want to go on medicine for diabetes and want to try all natural means before having to resort to meds.

Welcome to Gastric Bypass Sparklers! You’ll find plenty of support and encouragement here. No question is too stupid to ask, so post away and we’ll all put in our two cents worth. Utilize all the tools SP has to offer. I find tracking my food and exercise most helpful. Good luck on your weight loss journey!

Linda

Just dropped by to say - Hi. and welcome you to “Team ~INDYGIRL” emoticon
We aim to create a friendly, and supportive environment in SparkPeople land!! - Please feel free to jump in and join in the message boards. It has been proved that people who contribute regularly to message boards and blog regularly lose more weight, more easily than those who don’t, so come on in.
It is a great place to be and you will find lots of friends, and ideas to help and support you at all stages on your journey, so please don’t ever be afraid to ask questions. Even if it seems a small thing it is important to you – and someone will have the answer, or will have been there.
I hope you succeed in all the goals you set
Please leave your Sparkmail on for this team as ~Indygirl sends out a new challenge each week
Enjoy the journey

Hi.

So sorry you are so down about this stinking diabetes. I think I know how you feel as I experienced the same thing when 1st diagnosed and then again when told my insulin production is next to nothing.

It is depressing at first to know that we have a disease that will not go away. Insulin looms in the mind big time. The thought of changing eating habits, must do exercise, not eating that large cone of ice cream is tough (especially the ice cream for me!). Not only that, there are days when the exercise, working the diet and medications is completely mind absorbing. Once accepting these realities, all this it is really about is life style change and viewing food as a tool to help.

Unfortunately this disease progresses. Our diet and exercise can really slow the progression of the disease. My mother was dead from this disease at 52. I've managed better and just turned 60. You will do well too!!

Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. emoticon Carol
ps I am adding you as a friend. emoticon emoticon
