Trying to be Mindful of What, When, Where & Why I'm Eating

I'm a 71 year old fat vegetarian and I'm tired of the "fat" part. I don't eat because I'm hungry - hell, I don't even remember what hungry feels like. When I'm home I'm an opportunistic eater - I eat because it's there. I don't go out for specific food but if I'm already out, I eat impulsively. And I eat until it's all gone - the whole bag of cookies, the whole pie, the whole loaf of bread (if it's homemade), and so on. You know what I mean. And if it has cheese melted on it or is ...

When I'm home I'm an opportunistic eater - I eat because it's there. I don't go out for specific food but if I'm already out, I eat impulsively. And if it has cheese melted on it or is drizzled with chocolate - oh my God!!!
I HAVE to stop eating like this. I really want to but I just don't seem to have any will power, and I always fall back into my old habits after just a brief stint of sanity.
So - I've decided to apply the principal of "Mindfulness" to my mindless eating, and tap into the resources and encouragement offered by this website. What have I got to lose? Hopefully, about 65 pounds.
