Things Work Out Best for People Who Make the Best of the Way Things Work Out

Jan 3, 2014

That saying above there? THAT is my new mantra for 2014. I'm going to approach things in my life with an open, positive, and grateful mind and be thankful for all the wonderful things that turn out just as they should.

So 2013 was supposed to be the year I learned to love myself. I definitely made some progress towards that goal, but I have such a long way to go. So here we are in 2014 - a shiny brand new year to continue to work towards my goals! ...

I am still learning to love myself, care for myself, value myself and show myself that I'm worth it. I didn't do this for a very long time. I have struggled with my weight my entire life starting on diets when I was 8. I've been on many diets, I've lost and gained weight a countless number of times and ways. My weight has defined me and it has kept me from being the person I want to be and doing the things I want to do.

I want to be strong, healthy, and happy. I want to get out of my comfort zone, (which usually involves food!) and actually live life, not just watch it go by.

I love the support that SP gives me - the more friends the better!

These are my goals:

Think Positively
Exercise Daily
Eat Healthy
Work Hard
Stay Strong
Worry Less

MINEA999 Figured out why the calorie range suggestion was being so 'generous' for me to lose 16 lbs by Christmas. Because I had the goal date set for Christmas... of next year. HAHA.

NOOOOOOPE.

The day after you asked if I was going to do something that day was Saturday, and the pool is closed on Saturdays for swim meets.

But eh. I'm going for 3-4 days a week. That way if I miss one I'm 3. If I aim for 3 days a week and miss one that's only 2. So far it works! hahahaha.

Saturdays are for walking to the farmer's market. But this weekend I have to drive so I can get a GIANT PUMPKIN!!!!!!!

Why YES, I *AM* keeping my shiz together. Hahaha.

I let yesterday be a rest day. Which was good as I'd been falling asleep at work the previous days...

Back in the pool again today!

AND, it is really cold at work (I think they have the A/C on even though it is cold and rainy out, because they are jerks and want us all to die of pneumonia). I HAD TO go to the cafeteria because I am out of salad at home (TRAGEDYYYYYYYYY). I kind of wanted pizza because hot and cheese and melty! But then I saw the soup of the day was chicken noodle - YES PLZ!

So, I successfully talked myself out of a bagel at 10:30am ("morning snack" = more calories than my entire breakfast? No. No, no. Also it will not ACTUALLY make you less cold.) AND out of getting pizza at lunch. YAY!

Now I am full of salad and soup. mmmmmmmm.....

How are YOOOOOOOOOOU???

emoticon emoticon

Heh. bacon. Maybe I should buy some for weekend breakfast!

Hello Hello Good Morning...Gotta Love those Canadians, Just now read your note: I saw on your status update that you were in 'the Canadian Puget Sound' area - I'm from Victoria - so I'm guessing that it was somewhere around here. We don't use the term Puget Sound except in relation to around Seattle etc. so I was just curious what areas you were sailing around (not being facetious! I just had never heard the term Canadian Puget Sound - it made me laugh out loud). RE: I am not a sailor had never been sailing before ever so it was absolutely fantastic. Technically Puget Sound is the portion of the inland waters south of the Strait of Juan de Fuca in central Washington State. The waters to the north of the strait are called the San Juan Islands in Washington State and in British Columbia, Canada the area is called the Gulf Islands. Farther north is the Straight of Georgia. & For simplicy those waters are often referred to as the “Greater Puget Sound” if you live in Seattle (where I lived for 10 years). I guess that I just let my readers know that I was sailing in Canadian waters and not in Washington State.I arrived by Amtrack Train system and my friend walked to the train station from her boat in False creek. We arrived to her make shift looking dinghy to transfer all my stuff to her boat where we spent the first night there in False creek sleeping on the deck looking out at all that activity. We left the next morning for Port Graves; Gambier Island. What an Adventure!!! Sailing in emoticon ! Hope things are going well for you. This will be my first day back to Sparking in Forever it seems. I'm feeling out-of-sorts and have really let things go these past few months. I have a new temporary job and have let that be my excuse (this time) but today is the first day of the rest of my life. But emoticon friend.
