Things Work Out Best for People Who Make the Best of the Way Things Work Out

That saying above there? THAT is my new mantra for 2014. I'm going to approach things in my life with an open, positive, and grateful mind and be thankful for all the wonderful things that turn out just as they should.

So 2013 was supposed to be the year I learned to love myself. I definitely made some progress towards that goal, but I have such a long way to go. So here we are in 2014 - a shiny brand new year to continue to work towards my goals! ...

That saying above there? THAT is my new mantra for 2014. I'm going to approach things in my life with an open, positive, and grateful mind and be thankful for all the wonderful things that turn out just as they should.

So 2013 was supposed to be the year I learned to love myself. I definitely made some progress towards that goal, but I have such a long way to go. So here we are in 2014 - a shiny brand new year to continue to work towards my goals!

I am still learning to love myself, care for myself, value myself and show myself that I'm worth it. I didn't do this for a very long time. I have struggled with my weight my entire life starting on diets when I was 8. I've been on many diets, I've lost and gained weight a countless number of times and ways. My weight has defined me and it has kept me from being the person I want to be and doing the things I want to do.

I want to be strong, healthy, and happy. I want to get out of my comfort zone, (which usually involves food!) and actually live life, not just watch it go by.

I love the support that SP gives me - the more friends the better!

My Goals:
While I don't want to be defined by a number, I do want to have things to strive towards:

I will NOT get on a scale more than once per week.

- 289 - 7/9/2013
- 279 - 8/10/2013

- 249 (lowest adult weight)

Other goals:
- to be in a healthy weight range for my height (5'9")
- to be a positive person
- to not feel like the largest person in the room all the time
- to shop in regular stores
- to be able to do things like kayaking or fly on airplanes without concern of not fitting
- to be someone that says 'well, I just got back from my run, but SURE I'll go for a walk with you.'

My Program:
Honestly tracking calories with the nutrition tracker every single day. Every single thing I eat. Trying as much as possible to stay within my calories, knowing that some days it might be impossible.

Incorporating exercise.

Cardio - elliptical, swimming, walking, hiking, occasional video

Strength training using plan designed by a trainer utilizing free weights, bosu, exercise ball.

Combo - 30 Minute Hit Kickboxing Circuit

Kundalini yoga - 1x week.



Personal Information:
I'm single, work full-time and live with a grumpy old cat on the west coast of Canada.

I'm 38 yrs old and I'm a little over 5'9" tall (I tell you this just cause when I see pictures of people at certain weights everyone is so different and I always wonder - how tall are they!!?? So now you know how tall I am. :)

NOOOOOOPE.

The day after you asked if I was going to do something that day was Saturday, and the pool is closed on Saturdays for swim meets.

But eh. I'm going for 3-4 days a week. That way if I miss one I'm 3. If I aim for 3 days a week and miss one that's only 2. So far it works! hahahaha.

Saturdays are for walking to the farmer's market. But this weekend I have to drive so I can get a GIANT PUMPKIN!!!!!!!

Why YES, I *AM* keeping my shiz together. Hahaha.

I let yesterday be a rest day. Which was good as I'd been falling asleep at work the previous days...

Back in the pool again today!

AND, it is really cold at work (I think they have the A/C on even though it is cold and rainy out, because they are jerks and want us all to die of pneumonia). I HAD TO go to the cafeteria because I am out of salad at home (TRAGEDYYYYYYYYY). I kind of wanted pizza because hot and cheese and melty! But then I saw the soup of the day was chicken noodle - YES PLZ!

So, I successfully talked myself out of a bagel at 10:30am ("morning snack" = more calories than my entire breakfast? No. No, no. Also it will not ACTUALLY make you less cold.) AND out of getting pizza at lunch. YAY!

Now I am full of salad and soup. mmmmmmmm.....

How are YOOOOOOOOOOU???

Heh. bacon. Maybe I should buy some for weekend breakfast!
