That saying above there? THAT is my new mantra for 2014. I'm going to approach things in my life with an open, positive, and grateful mind and be thankful for all the wonderful things that turn out just as they should.

So 2013 was supposed to be the year I learned to love myself. I definitely made some progress towards that goal, but I have such a long way to go. So here we are in 2014 - a shiny brand new year to continue to work towards my goals! ...

So 2013 was supposed to be the year I learned to love myself. I definitely made some progress towards that goal, but I have such a long way to go. So here we are in 2014 - a shiny brand new year to continue to work towards my goals!

I am still learning to love myself, care for myself, value myself and show myself that I'm worth it. I didn't do this for a very long time. I have struggled with my weight my entire life starting on diets when I was 8. I've been on many diets, I've lost and gained weight a countless number of times and ways. My weight has defined me and it has kept me from being the person I want to be and doing the things I want to do.

I want to be strong, healthy, and happy. I want to get out of my comfort zone, (which usually involves food!) and actually live life, not just watch it go by.

I love the support that SP gives me - the more friends the better!

Current Status:
MINEA999 oooheee stepped on the scale today for the first time in a while. Ooops. It's water weight, I swear! Thank gawd BLC starts today!

My Goals:
While I don't want to be defined by a number, I do want to have things to strive towards:

- 249 (lowest adult weight)

- 233 (100 lbs)



Other goals:
- to be in a healthy weight range for my height (5'9")
- to be a positive person
- to not feel like the largest person in the room all the time
- to shop in regular stores
- to be able to do things like kayaking or fly on airplanes without concern of not fitting
- to be someone that says 'well, I just got back from my run, but SURE I'll go for a walk with you.'

My Program:
Honestly tracking calories with the nutrition tracker every single day. Every single thing I eat. Trying as much as possible to stay within my calories, knowing that some days it might be impossible.

Incorporating exercise.

Cardio - elliptical, swimming, walking, hiking, occasional video

Strength training using plan designed by a trainer utilizing free weights, bosu, exercise ball.

Combo - 30 Minute Hit Kickboxing Circuit

Kundalini yoga - 1x week.



Personal Information:
I'm single, work full-time and live with a grumpy old cat on the west coast of Canada.

I'm 38 yrs old and I'm a little over 5'9" tall (I tell you this just cause when I see pictures of people at certain weights everyone is so different and I always wonder - how tall are they!!?? So now you know how tall I am. :)

I am always appreciative of every single comment I get on one of my blogs! I don't have the time to respond to every one of them, but there are times where a comment really makes me think or touches my heart in a special way and I have to find time to respond. emoticon

I can completely understand how people can lose a great amount of weight and gain it back by being a little "let down" with how our body looks after. I know some of us start a weight loss journey for "health" reasons, but a lot of us start it for vanity reasons. I am guilty of being that person who just wanted to look better. As time went on, now I am looking at the health benefits as well, but initially it was vanity. So to come out of this process and still be uncomfortable in my body from time to time and dealing with various struggles, it can still be hard. The good news is, the benefits far outweigh the pitfalls, and I will learn to accept my body and work on the mental part of this journey... because I know some jiggles and wiggles won't lead me to a heart attack or diabetes, but being overweight can cause so much harm. emoticon
