That saying above there? THAT is my new mantra for 2014. I'm going to approach things in my life with an open, positive, and grateful mind and be thankful for all the wonderful things that turn out just as they should.

So 2013 was supposed to be the year I learned to love myself. I definitely made some progress towards that goal, but I have such a long way to go. So here we are in 2014 - a shiny brand new year to continue to work towards my goals! ...

So 2013 was supposed to be the year I learned to love myself. I definitely made some progress towards that goal, but I have such a long way to go. So here we are in 2014 - a shiny brand new year to continue to work towards my goals!

I am still learning to love myself, care for myself, value myself and show myself that I'm worth it. I didn't do this for a very long time. I have struggled with my weight my entire life starting on diets when I was 8. I've been on many diets, I've lost and gained weight a countless number of times and ways. My weight has defined me and it has kept me from being the person I want to be and doing the things I want to do.

I want to be strong, healthy, and happy. I want to get out of my comfort zone, (which usually involves food!) and actually live life, not just watch it go by.

I love the support that SP gives me - the more friends the better!

My Goals:
While I don't want to be defined by a number, I do want to have things to strive towards:

Other goals:
- to be in a healthy weight range for my height (5'9")
- to be a positive person
- to not feel like the largest person in the room all the time
- to shop in regular stores
- to be able to do things like kayaking or fly on airplanes without concern of not fitting
- to be someone that says 'well, I just got back from my run, but SURE I'll go for a walk with you.'

My Program:
Honestly tracking calories with the nutrition tracker every single day. Every single thing I eat. Trying as much as possible to stay within my calories, knowing that some days it might be impossible.

Incorporating exercise.

Cardio - elliptical, swimming, walking, hiking, occasional video

Strength training using plan designed by a trainer utilizing free weights, bosu, exercise ball.

Combo - 30 Minute Hit Kickboxing Circuit

Kundalini yoga - 1x week.

I'm single, work full-time and live with a grumpy old cat on the west coast of Canada.

BUDDEEEEEEEEEEE!

I dry Turtle Puppy because she is a long haired dog and she will drip all over the house and smell like Wet Stinky Face if I don't. Also she will be more prone to matting, and then brushing her will be Misery instead of Fun. It only takes a few minutes. :)

You can put some potatoes in there if you want, just more carbs & calories. Or have some hash browns or toast on the side if you cut it in smaller servings. I like it because I can eat a GIANT PIECE. :) Enjoy!

OH chicken breakfast sausage - if you can't find it, just use turkey. Or combine 1lb ground chicken with 1tsp each of fennel seed (smash it up a bit) allspice, sage, salt, and paprika, and 1/2 tsp thyme and some sprinkles of black pepper. Voila, chicken breakfast sausage.
