I have been a member of Spark People since March of 2010. My commitment level has varied from day/week/month, but I have continued the journey. I know that losing the weight is just part of the equation. Every day is about making better choices than the day before, and choosing the healthiest option available. Also, trying to find the balance and keep it all in moderation.

I wish I could say 2017 was a successful year on my personal journey, but it wasn't. I gained back 25 pounds of the weight I had lost....so getting back to basics in 2018 and doing the things I know work for me.

I joined the 2018 Winter 5% Challenge, and will be on the WRJ&G team!! I'm looking forward to getting to know my new teammates, and the feeling of accountability I get when on a challenge team. I commit to at least 30 minutes of exercise daily, and will split it between walking, swimming, and strength training. I will be eating a modified Mediterranean diet that my nutritionist designed specifically for me. I will participate to the best of my ability on the LTGL portion of the 5% Challenge, and I will post my points daily to my team. I will also interact with teammates through their blog posts and Spark pages.

I hit my initial goal weight in early 2011, and then revised it to the middle of my normal BMI. I was within 9 pounds of the revised goal, when I had some injuries that side-lined me. Replaced some old unhealthy habits with some new unhealthy habits, and packed on the pounds over the next year. Then came 2013. I was exercising like a fiend, burning at least 4000 calories per week in cardio alone, and staying within calorie range. The weight just kept piling on. After my doctor ran a bunch of tests, an auto-immune disease was diagnosed. I worked with a nutritionist, my doctor referred me to, for a few months to help with a manageable eating plan. I am committed to getting back on track by eating healthier, living a more active lifestyle, and regular exercise. So my mantra is "One choice at a time." I can do this!!!

Thank-you so much for visiting my second blog about the recent cruise through the Panama Canal DH and I went on. I am so sorry you did not get to see the entire blog (I goofed and posted it before I had completed it). But it is now finished if you would like to return and see the few photos I added. I promise that more blogs are coming, too, as I have over 3000 photos from our adventure (I promise not to post all 3000!)! Try this link:

Are you interested in a Challenge?

The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl. If you decide this might be for you you can leave your name on the waitlist for the Spring challenge. To get to the Challenge go to my page and click on the Blue Biggest Loser Icon, copy and paste the link below, or let me know and I can send you an invite. Join the Team then sign up on the waitlist. It’s the thread right below the Frosted Fitness Fun Chit Thread.
