Vegan Diet for 2012!

My life since high school ended has been a weight rollercoaster. I never much worried about my weight before graduation, at 5'7'', weighing 150 at the most. By the time I finished my bachelor's degree I was pushing past 160, and by the time I had my master's and began my teaching career I was pushing past 170. My life since high school ended has been a weight rollercoaster. I never much worried about my weight before graduation, at 5'7'', weighing 150 at the most. By the time I finished my bachelor's degree I was pushing past 160, and by the time I had my master's and began my teaching career I was pushing past 170. My breaking point came in the summer of 2009, when I came back from a vacation in August, saw pictures of myself from the trip, and was horrified at how heavy I looked, topping out at 178. Several things coincided in my life at that moment; a bout of depression, going on some medications and off others that all helped me lose weight very quickly, coming in at 137 by the middle of November 2009. I thought I had finally made it, having reached my goal. Then, I stopped being depressed, switched medications around again, got into a new relationship with plenty of restaurant dates, and suddenly, 8 months later, a year come full circle, I was back at 178 again in August of 2010!

After spending the last few months attempting to lose the weight again and having little success, I decided to join sparkpeople after talking to a friend who is having success with it. I have to do something that will be lasting because I am sick of feeling uncomfortable in my body.

My name is Missy, I'm 31 years old, and I live in CT. I'm a 4th grade teacher. I have a wonderful boyfriend Gary who I've been dating for two years. My vices are ice cream; I could eat it twice a day every day, going out to eat excessively, and just overeating in general. I love food! I love the taste and the texture and can eat way past full and still enjoy myself. I'm here to get thin and strong. I can't wait to love and enjoy my body!

That's emoticon !!!! Well I was doing pretty good. I had started Weight Watchers back in July and I had lost 12 lbs. Then I decided to start Ripped in 30 at the end of September. Then this past week my schedule got a little crazy...had my cousin's wedding in PA, my sister had her baby, and then I got busy with school work and work. So today I packed my lunch for work...hopefully i stay strong for dinner...thats when it usually gets rough for me on work days.
Hows your week been going? Got anything planned for the weekend?

Hey Missy! I am going to try your idea of the workout DVDs during vacation. Since I only have two, I will put some other options in the "jar" to pick from, ( running for 30 min, 1.5 hrs at the gym, etc). Hopefully this new little strategy will trick my brain into thinking it's doing something fun! HAHAHA!
