Trying to regain my Spark

I have been gone for about a year from Spark people and I am coming back - I have gained about 30 pounds this year and 2013 will be the year I get back to my healthy self.

It has been awhile since I updated my Spark Page - I a m really struggling to keep the spark going. I don't mean that I have fallen off the wagon - I am in the best phyiscal shape I have ever been in. I continue to drop the pounds - I am down to 195 - which I didn't even think was possible. I mean I was at 205 for so long that I thought that was it for me. I am now bouncing between 194-200 and thats a very good thing.

The first half of the year has been very trying or me and I guess that is why I am trying to get my spark back. I have gotton a divorce and lost my Mom to Pancreatic cancer all in the last 3 months. Life has just gotton a bit harder and trying to deal with all that has put me in a spot of lifes struggles. My spark friends have helped but I seem to be on my own - less of my spark friends are there but maybe its because I am withdrawing and trying to get things figured out on my own.

Its been about 2 months since I updated my Spark Page and today is my 2 year Spark Anniversary - so what better day to update.

I have discovered Healthy living thanks to spark people! I have lost 100 pounds on my journey and have kept it off and continue to increase my fitness level. I am much more fit than when I first joined Spark People. On my journey, around 5 years now! First started with a little exercise and some Nutrition and over the past 5 years have increased each.

I had lost close to 70 pounds before I even found Spark People - but when I did find Spark People it changed my thinking - regarding exercise and Nutrition. Spark People turned me into an exercise Fanatic - but maybe that is the wrong word! I just do it now 5-6 times per week.

I have become a runner - at first I only did short races 5k's and 10k's and was doing well at them. I gradually have increased my mileage - worked thorough the pains of some nagging injuries. I have discovered many running friends - Both on Spark People and in my local area.

Last year I ran 5 half Marathons and look forward to this year of running close to 8-10 Half Marathons and looking at running my first Marathon. I haven't really nailed down which Marathon I want to do but I have plenty of time. Right Now I am concentrating on Half training as I get ready to start the Half's for 2011.

Personal Information:
I am 54 year old flooring contractor and very happy that things are turning around for me. I am recently remarried and been married since March we melded are families together. We now have 7 kids and 14 grandchildren together.

Thanks for sharing your page with us! I stayed away from spark for 3 years, and I gained all my weight back and then some. But, I also learned something in those 3 years, and that was that I can't do this alone. I come to spark to help others and find support and I also go to weight loss meetings face-to-face in my area. I can't, and I won't do this alone. Call me co-dependent, but I need other people who have and are working through the same struggle as me. Working with others is vital to my weight loss journey and maintenance. Welcome back to spark! You're a miracle and an inspiration! Keep coming back! Bless! :)
