I live in a southwest suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2008, I lost 80 pounds and am looking to maintain it. I came to SparkPeople to maintain it and did well for awhile. Then, I met the man who became my husband and added 20 back on! Yikes but I am getting it back off, slowly but surely.

I work out a lot. It's my main social activity and work part-time at my city's community center. My favorite classes there are Kelly's Bootcamp, kettlebells, and Total Body Conditioning. ...

I am also into running and started 2 years ago. So far, I have run several 10ks, 4 half marathons, a fake half marathon (a 10 mile +5k on the same day), a couple of 15ks and a 10 mile race.

I got married in July 2010. So far, so good.

Thanks for you comment about migraine and exercise. Unfortunately, I've had migraines all my life and have been to more neurologists than I can remember. They listen and try, but just really can't help. But it has been about a year, so I can at least ask my primary care if there is anything new and try it out.

I just read your post:

You should try Genmaicha tea. It is green tea (which I have never liked) with toasted rice, sometimes toasted sesame seeds. I use a difuser in a glass tea pot. The flavor is incredibly good. Japan is using this to take off weight.

Black Ear Mushroom (common in Chinese food) also takes off weight.

Read JJ Virgin Diet. That method uses pea protein. I use Olympian Labs vanilla pea protein blended with Trader Joe's vanilla almond milk (refrigerated...not the shelf one). A serving has 25 grams of protein and only 4 grams of carbs.

With low carb (10 to 15 grams per meal), high protein, and 2 Tbsp coconut oil (per day), the weight will come off rather easy.

High carbs (around 150 grams and above) prevent fat from burning. The coconut oil needs to be digested (not stored as fat) to be a health tonic so keep the carbs down.
