Getting serious about weight loss

I have multiple health issues that could all be greatly reduced (or eliminated) if I lost weight, so that is what I'm going to do! I have a beautiful 6 year old daughter and an awesome husband that I need to do this for (besides for myself!). I am a social worker working with children with special healthcare needs. The only way I can go from here is up!!

Current Status:
MLKDUD saw the doctor today, had to start taking Nexium for acid reflux. Hopefully I will start feeling better!

My Goals:
-Get diabetes under control
-Keep exercising 5 days a week for at least 25 min
-Add some strength training/daily stretches
-Continue to lose weight
-Cut portion sizes even more and eat 4-5 servings of freggies every day
-Lose 5% during the Fall 5% Challenge (I was 5 pounds shy of making it in the Summer Challenge!)

walk at least 25 min 5 times a week. Two days to the gym. Want to add some strength training

I give thanks to God, the Father, for you as I pray for you today. Worry over the future breeds anxiety. Fretting over the past breeds depression. Both can stop our good movement forward and put us in front of the TV with a bad movie and too much of the stuff we don’t need to put into our bodies. That horrid cycle, of course, breeds regret and dread that brings us to more of the same. I believe that is called “insanity”.

Instead work to stay in the present taking the next step needed for living to the full the “now” that is before you, having learned better ways from past experience and pushing forward with hope that right action now will produce a better tomorrow. This is living life with power that produces a good outcome and protects our journey from wasting away.

Plan for the future, yes; but let the first plan be to live your best you in the now you have to possess.
