I've taken advantage of the fact that I didn't gain weight when I was in my 20's and now that I'm 40 I don't like what I see in the mirror. I want to lose weight for the long term and I don't want a fad diet to melt pounds away. I want to make permanent lifestyle changes.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to lose weight and stay healthy. Most of my family is diabetic and I haven't been diagnosed yet, so I am delaying the inevitable, or trying.

My Program:
I am increasing my activity levels. I don't want to call it exercise but rather becoming more active by biking, walking, parking my car farther away from the door. I am following the Mediterranean Diet.

Personal Information:
I am 45, married with no children and live in the Fort Worth, TX area.

Other Information:
I am a professionally trained chef which poses a challenge to eating, but I am trying to use it to my advantage. Since I can cook whatever I want, I am choosing to follow the Mediterranean Diet. I am learning new recipes from new cultures while also putting my own spin on things.
