Working Towards A Healthy Weight

I am the mother of 4 grown children and have 12 grandchildren. I volunteer at a local gym and at a Family History Center. I am active in my church community too.

I have been a perfect yo-yo dieter for 30 years now. I have been either perfectly striving for a healthy weight or perfectly abandoning any resemblance of a healthy lifestyle. OK, not quite that bad...but definitely eating well and exercising or eating non-nutritious stuff and not exercising.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 I actually got to my lowest weight in years: 163. I actually was eating balanced meals and exercising regularly even through most of 2012. Then I went nuts for some reason I have not been able to identify. ( Actually a knee replacement, a partial knee replacement, and two foot surgeries had a lot to do with it.) Nor have I been able to turn things around. Today, March 30, 2015. I am making an attempt to regroup and get back to the positive behaviors I employed so well in the past.

My Goals:
My short term goal is to weigh 200 pounds or less by March 26th. My daily short term goals are daily behaviors: exercise 6 days/week for at least 30 minutes, strength train 2-3 times /week, eat within my calorie range AND record it in Spark People.

My Program:
I am eating nutritiously balanced meals and attempting to work out 6 days a week at a careful pace.
