Hi. I am 57 years old and have had a weight problem since my late 20's. My weight has been up and down over the years. I have taken as much as 75 pounds off at a time, but always gain it back and more. I am finding it increasingly difficult to do most everything and want to get in shape before it is too late. I started Sparkpeople in January 2013. At first I lost weight pretty regularly, but then I stalled and got discouraged. I am trying to stick with it despite multiple setbacks.

My Goals:
I would like to get down to a weight where I am in the normal BMI range. I would like to be able to enjoy everyday activities and feel healthy.

My Program:
I have been trying to follow Sparkpeople diet guidelines and walk for exercise. I am trying to get in better shape so I can start an actual exercise program.

Personal Information:
I am originally from Md. I moved to Al 4 years ago after living in Va for a number of years. I have 3 children- 2 boys aged 26 and 24 who live w/ me and go to college. My 22 year old daughter graduated from college in Va last year and has moved to Mo.

Other Information:
I love the ocean and hope to retire somewhere on the east coast. I enjoy reading mysteries, doing puzzles, gardening, and handwork- such as knitting, crocheting, counted cross-stitch.

Just stopping by to check on you. I read that you have been gettig lost on your journey. I had to and finally am back on the right path. Self sabatoge is the hardest to overcome. It seems that you may be on change overload. I was doing that too. So I slowed it down, Each month I work on 1 or 2 things to change. If I do not get it that month then it rolls over to the next.

The 1st change I made was to get on Spark People everyday. I choose this site over facebook. It helps to keep me motivated.
