Time to start anew!!!!

Well trying this again...many changes this past year. Some not so good but working thru it all. I did get to see my oldest in new Zealand last February. Traveled there and back by myself. Took my youngest to live with another sister in Georgia and then drove home by myself. Finding I can make it by myself without relying on people. God is with me, even thru the trying times. Not only this past year did I have to bury one child, but the last of them have left home. Now it is just my husband and myself, and I refuse to be my husband's mother. There are still changes taking place but things will work out in the end. I am taking control of my life and with God's help will make it.

My exercise buddy moved far away from here, now I am desperate for a support system. I am still trying to exercise on my own. I don't expect to find an exercise buddy here, but a support group to help keep me motivated. Still trying to figure out a routine that works with my schedule. The only local gym just has old equipment and no fitness instructors. Gave up that, but did pick up an elliptical machine and the wii fit and Gold Gym for the wii. Now I have some variety, just need to figure out how much and when to do it.
My biggest weaknesses are fresh bread and candy. The bread especially is my downfall. My husband is the cook in the family, so I have little control over meal planning. He is finally getting his toes wet when it comes to eating healthier and exercising. Constantly encouraging him as he constantly encourages me to eat and take it easy. Love does crazy things.



mother of a long line of children(10) Making changes that are sticking. Excercising is becoming a part of my routine. Really wish yoga was introduced to me 15 years ago, it would have helped. But better late then never. Yoga really stretches out all your muscles. I also like pilates. All I knew back then was aerobics and crunches, and mind you fitting it in around the kids without them climbing all over me really didn't work out. Plus my living room was way to small for one person to work out let alone 5 of us or so. Trying to get my husband motivated to join me is the biggest challenge.

It has now been about 18 months and have struggled the past several months.....an unexpected move into a house that wasn't totally remodeled so had to finish what was begun, then moved. Kids had to make job changes and so did husband. Then a family emergency that totally changed all our lives. So slowly recovering and trying to get back to some semblance of normalcy. God willing.

    emoticon It's the weekend. I am home this weekend to get a handle on my garden. Time to start cleaning and prepping. Last night we hit 36 degrees.

    emoticon I am wishing all my friends four hours of time for themselves. If you had that four magical hours to do anything you want for yourself, how would you choose to use them? Let me know if you get a chance.

    emoticon An update on me. I am at my goal weight now and am struggling with how to keep it off FOREVER. I will be blogging on this subject over the next three months as I commit to a healthy lifestyle.
