Celebrating a Risen Saviour!
EASTER THOUGHTS FOR THESE TROUBLED TIMES As the Easter Season dawns once again, We look on a world of restless men- Men who are 'driven'by fear and greed And caught in a web of tension and speed, Driving themselves and the world, as well, Into a future no one can fortell- Oh, God, instead of vain 'driven men', Fill man's heart with true 'DRIVE' again, Spurred on by FAITH in GOD ABOVE To build a new ...
EASTER THOUGHTS FOR THESE TROUBLED TIMES As the Easter Season dawns once again, We look on a world of restless men- Men who are 'driven'by fear and greed And caught in a web of tension and speed, Driving themselves and the world, as well, Into a future no one can fortell- Oh, God, instead of vain 'driven men', Fill man's heart with true 'DRIVE' again, Spurred on by FAITH in GOD ABOVE To build a new world of 'BROTHERLY LOVE'. Helen Steiner Rice Easter Means Eternal Life A perfect God demands a perfect justice; He cannot let us get away with sin. We used God’s gift of our free will to trespass, So heaven’s gates were closed; we couldn’t get in. Our sin required our blood, a sacrifice, To atone for all the wrongs that we had done. "But I love them!" cried our Father, filled with sorrow; "I’ll send my only Son to be the one." Good Friday marks the slaying of our Jesus, The unblemished lamb, the perfect sacrifice. He took our guilt and blame upon Himself, So we could be with Him in paradise. On Easter morning, he came back from death; He vanished from the tomb, the empty grave. His resurrection means eternal life For us, the ones he came to earth to save. This summarizes all the Easter story And because of it, we’ll be with Him in glory. By Joanna Fuchs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don't Quit When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down, And you feel like the biggest failure in town. When you want to give up just because you gave in, and forget all about being healthy and thin. So What! You went over your points a bit, It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit! It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change. It's learning the skills to get back in your range. It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now. You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow." It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal. You're still gonna make it, just stay in control. To stumble and fall is not a disgrace, if you summon the will to get back in the race. But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip, Just throw in the towel and continue to slip. And learn too late when the damage is done, that the race wasn't over...they still could have won. Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow, but facing each challenge will help you grow. Success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint in a cloud of doubt. When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit, If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit! - Author Unknown ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don't Quit When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit -- Rest if you must, but don't quit. Life is strange with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a fellow turns about When he might have won had he stuck it out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow -- You may succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than It seems to a fair and faltering man, Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor's cup, And he learned too late when night came down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out -- The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar, So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, -- It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit. -- Author Unknown -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Things I Have Learned on this Journey Consistency is the key! Keep getting back on track! If I am hungry and it is not time to eat: Drink Water and chew gum Snack with fruit and protein between meals. Make sure I am getting enough calories early in the day. Keep moving, even the smallest things help you keep you going in the right direction. If I mess up, start again immediately, don't wait for the next day! This is a great inspirational video. http://www.lshs64.com/enjoytheride.html 2012 Starting over!! Hitting the reset button!! 2011 continued pursuing my healthy lifestyle. I will not quit! I will obtain health and fitness. 2010 was a very hard year! Struggles were not handled well with the result of gaining 40 pounds. Reach goal weight before the end of the year. 2009 Lost 100 pounds. I am so grateful to all who have encouraged, supported and kicked me in the pants along the journey. My heart is full of Thanksgiving and Praise to the One who never gives up on us and sends angels to help us along the way. 01/03/09 I joined Sparks two years ago and did nothing. I am tired of making excuses, I have health challenges to limit my exercise, sleeping problems and am now caregiver to my father-in -law, so sit at home everyday. I keep thinking that if my husband will start losing, then I will jump on the band wagon. Well that hasn't happened. I let my emotions rule and try and do it all on my own, not allowing my Lord and Savior to help me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Climb Till Your Dream Comes True Your tasks may often be many, More than you think you can do -- The road may often be rugged And the hills insurmountable, too... But nothing in life that is worthy Is ever too hard to achieve If you have the courage to try it And you have the faith to believe... For faith is a mover of mountains And there's nothing that God cannot do, So start out today With faith in your heart And climb till your dream comes true! Helen Steiner Rice, Poet
