Hi, my name is Nancy. I live in New Jersey with my husband of 27years. We have three daughters and one son. They are 25,22,20 and wait for it, 12! I became a member of Sparkpeople in 2008. I was already on my weight loss journey, having successfully giving up French vanilla cappuccinos. Then someone introduced me to SP. I loved it. It was wonderful finding all this support, and motivation. The stories and the blogs are truly inspiring. Thank you to all of you who share with us. I lost ...
I lost 28 pounds. Now, 28 pounds is a lot, especially to a small person like me. I am only 4'11". So, 30+ pounds on me is like 60 or 70 on an average person. I was feeling fantastic, going to the gym, tracking my food, skipping all the goodies people I work with insist on having around...Then I had an illness that took a few months to recover from. I maintained my weight while I was out of work even though I wasn't allowed to work out at all. But, when I went back to work, I didn't go back to the gym and I didn't spark. So, of course I put on 16 pounds. Now, of course I want to look good. Who doesn't? But, that is not my main reason for getting back on a healthy program. My main reason is I have something called Spondylolisthesis with bilateral neuroforaninal stenosis. Basically, that is a crushed vertebra that is pinching the nerves that go down both of my legs. I also have Sacral Radiculopathy. Which causes pain in my feet. So, the weight I've put back on is a severe pain in my...legs...In the morning I can hardly walk, the pain is so bad. I'm sure if I can become a faithful sparker again, track my food and slowly incorporate some light exercise ( just in the beginning) I can rid myself of these painful pounds and become the more active 48 year old I should be. So, I'm back. I'll take whatever support anyone has to offer. I hope I become a success story that helps motivate others in their weight loss journey. Good luck to us all!
Nancy

Hey Nancy! Long time no talk! Well I'm glad to hear that. How do you like Weight Watchers? I know quite a few people who have had great success on that plan for years! My aunt being one of them. It's a very realistic way of eating. So do you like it? how is everything else? Yes please stay on Spark! Just because you try another method doesn't mean you don't need your Spark family! You needdddddddddd us FOREVERRR! We're all in this together..it's a struggle to get motivated, lose the weight, maintain the weight, it never ends!!!! LIFELONG journey baby! I'm really glad to hear from you! keep me updated on your WW progress. I'm really excited for you!!!!! :)
