Hi, My name is Monique Hawkins, and I live in Gore, VA about an hour and a half west of Washington, DC. Thanks for visiting my profile!
Some of the things I enjoy doing is spending time with my family and friends, reading, traveling (Kauai is one of my favorite places!), attending church, going to concerts, and shopping. I also enjoy teaching children.
Another area of interest I have is health and wellness. I enjoy working out at the gym (plus am an P90X graduate!) and doing all I can to achieve optimal health.
Feel free to contact me so we can get to know one another.
I would love to connect with you on Facebook as well.
My current goal is to reach the weight of 135 along with a body fat percent of 18-19%.
I have just started Scott Tousignant's "Metabolic Masterpiece" body sculpting program. The workouts really push you and the food plan is very helpful. In the past, I have also done P90X.
During my childhood, I discovered something very interesting about myself. At any early age, when we were pre-teens, my sister and I were asked to help out in the childrenís division at our church. Though we both were nervous at first, we soon discovered that helping and working with little ones was fun and we were happy to do it. I continue to do this years later.
As I grew older, this enjoyment of helping others, especially young people, guided me to become a licensed clinical social worker and behavior specialist for young people with developmental disabilities. While my job can be challenging, it also has great rewards when I see a young person make significant progress in their life.
Now, as someone who also is working from home part-time, as well as mentor and coach to those who desire to create additional income from home, I joined this community to met new friends, network, and share lots of weight loss and fat loss ideas.

"Whenever you make a mistake or get knocked down by life, don't look back at it too long.
Mistakes are life's way of teaching you. Your capacity for occasional blunders is inseparable from your capacity to reach your goals.
No one wins them all, and your failures, when they happen, are just part of your growth. Shake off your blunders.
How will you know your limits without an occasional failure? Never quit. Your turn will come."
Just stopping by to wish you a healthy week, Spark friend! If you fall down, get back up and keep pushing forward. I hope you know that you're always worth your best effort...because you really are!

"Three of the most powerful words in the English language are 'I AM RESPONSIBLE.' It's tough to do, but when the day comes that you can say those words, believe them, and mean them, it will be the most liberating moment of your life. Taking responsibility for all of your results, for better or for worse, is taking back your power to create results in your life."
Its up to you to make your goals and dreams a reality, Sparkfriend! Take responsibility, and do your best each day to make progress. You are totally worth the effort, you know!
I hope your week has been great so far!

"Just because we are knocked down does not mean that we are out.
We still have breath in our lungs and tears flowing down - all signs that we are alive!
Take a deep breath and be reminded that often our biggest struggles are stepping stones to our greatest victories."
Just stopping by to wish you a healthy, happy week, Spark friend! Keep your goals in mind and keep pushing yourself every day to get closer. It isn't easy, but never forget that you are worth the effort!

‚ÄúThe whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.‚ÄĚ

"The common conception is that motivation leads to action, but the reverse is true....action precedes motivation. You have to "prime the pump" and get the juice flowing, which motivates you to work on your goals. Getting momentum going is the most difficult part of the job, and often taking the first step is enough to prompt you to make the best of your day."
Hi Sparkfriend, I hope you're having a fun and healthy weekend! Keep your goals in mind, and keep doing your best to make progress towards reaching them. Never forget that you are always worth your very best effort!
