I have reached 61 and trying to retire! I'm working part time to train my replacement. Still fairly fit, but starting to have some pain from things wearing out. I reached my lifetime goal of 125 pounds and now I am working on staying there. Maintenance is just about the same as losing, with maybe one treat day per week.
In 2015 I competed in the Bataan Death March, White Sands NM, on March 22. I was in the 60-69 civilian women heavy category, which involves carrying 40 pounds over a 26.2 mile course. I was second in my age category, and 17th overall for civilian women.
Damaged knee cartilage precludes many exercises like heavy squats and leg extensions, but I do as much resistance exercise as I can. I hike one day every weekend but during the week I have my office slave job with daily bad food temptations (hope to retire this year). Hunger plagues me at work. At home I live on 30 acres with sheep, 2 Border Collies , 7 cats, one husband. My son is 21, in the Army and stationed right now in Korea.
I want to be fit, slim, and healthy so that I can keep enjoying outdoor activities as long as possible.
Walking, hiking, some weights and core exercises.
