A Sedentary Lifestyle

My problem isn't food. My problem is that I live inside the ivory tower, and so have no time for personal concerns of weight and health.

For the first summer in nearly 8 years, I have been granted permission to step outside the tower and now am overwhelmed with the challenge of being active and getting in better shape.

My Program:
I am tracking my calories in and my calories out.

I am using the Spark People recommended daily calorie intake based on my exercise routine. I then subtract from the number of calories for the day my BMR and the number of calories I burn at the gym. My goal is to achieve a negative net for the week.

The changes to my diet are less motivated by needing to limit calories (when I'm not "dieting" I usually eat about 1600 calories a day anyway), but more to just work towards overall health. More fruits, less caffeine.

I joined a gym and my routine is this:
Day 1: 60 minutes on a combination of elliptical and treadmill.
Day 2: 60 minutes cardio plus 20 minutes of strength training
Day 3: 60 minutes cardio
Day 4: Rest Day
Repeat
