Life moves too quickly to spend it hiding in the shadows. This isn't Junior High. Don't waste time worrying about how you look or what other people think about you. Get out there and LIVE! You're gonna make the world a better place, just by being YOU!
(Of course, that may mean picking up a hula hoop, or ukulele, or accordion...)

Personal Information:
I'm Shelli. I'm 49, married to the best guy, with a young adult son and teenage daughter. We live close to Cincinnati and share a house with Bubba the Incorrigible Bulldog. I'm Creative Arts Pastor for an awesome church. I love to hula hoop and play quirky instruments. If you hang out on social media, I'm at ShellSquared on Facebook and YouTube and @realshellsquared and @mostmom on Instagram.

Other Information:
Years ago, I lost 51 pounds by following another program. I felt amazing. I had so much energy and I felt like myself again. I was ready to maintain, but the program said I still needed to lose 35 more pounds. That seemed impossible to me. Discouraged, I quit, and put all the weight back on. My dad gently pointed me towards SP, because he's a member. I joined in Nov., 2010, but didn't really start working the program until March 2011. I've been up and down, but I'm loving it! This a place, where I can set realistic goals, be encouraged, and achieve success.

I enjoyed your article about turning 50. You make it sound fun than all those awful jokes about falling down the hill ( in a ditch ). With this belief you can keep growing and enjoying your life..
alot more productive than all the moaners who sing, i'm so old song... they are expecting to fall apart and be bored.

I didn't know the article was from you, until I got to the end. I hadn't seen one in a very long time.

We moved and have had a cycle of changes in our family.

hugs and blessings to you Shelly.

Hi there from Canada! I read your article and enjoyed it. Loved your insight on being 50. I'm 53 and like you, just doing my best. You mentioned your dad. That's great for him! My father-in-law is 79 this July and still goes square dancing and quite active. His 80 year old girlfriend is full of energy too. Hopefully we can age like them!
Have a great day. Stay blessed! Thanks for the motivation. emoticon
