Shelli Gets Sparked!!

I'm a SparkZealot. For real. SparkPeople is making such a positive impact on my life, I can't help but be a little fanatic.
Life moves too quickly to spend it hiding in the shadows. This isn't Junior High. Don't waste time worrying about how you look or what other people think about you. Get out there and LIVE! You're gonna make the world a better place, just by being YOU!
(Of course, that may mean picking up a hula hoop, or ukulele, or accordion...)

SPARK ON, BRAVE ...

My Goals:
Short-term goal: Reach 25 lbs lost
Long-term goal- Lose 50 lbs total and find Invisible Jet on eBay.
Have FUN exercising.
Eat more freggies.
Keep Streaking!
Keep trying and learning new things.
Spread the Spark!

My Program:
Track food and fitness with Spark apps.
Cardio & Strength Training (Elliptical, weights)
Fun exercise: Bubba walks, Hula Hoop, Poi, FireEating (not really), whatever...

Personal Information:
I'm Shelli. I'm 47, married to the best guy, with a young adult son and teenage daughter. We live close to Cincinnati and share a house with two incorrigible guinea pigs, Chubbs & Pudding and an English Bulldog named Bubba. I'm Creative Arts Pastor for an awesome church. I'm also a hooper and total MacGeek.

Other Information:
Not so very long ago, I lost 51 pounds by following another program. I felt amazing. I had so much energy and I felt like myself again. I was ready to maintain, but the program said I still needed to lose 35 more pounds. That seemed impossible to me. Discouraged, I quit, and put all the weight back on.
My dad gently pointed me towards SP, because he's a member. I joined in Nov., 2010, but didn't really start working the program until March 2011. I'm loving it! I can feel the real me coming out again. I like that chick, I've missed her!

I feel like I've found a place, where I can set realistic goals, be encouraged, and achieve success.

Hi Shelli, You are awesome. I feel just like you do and you know, just listening to you made me feel like I have known you for a long time. I love the way you went about telling you confessions and I have the same ones like you said, many of us have the same.
I have a lot more approximately 100lbs to lose, I don't look it, but the scale doesn't lie.
I would love to be spark friends if you would like to. We can share good times and tough times on our journey together and maybe we won't have to revisit this confessional quite as often in the future. It will be come a habit and way of life.
Keep up the great work and your happy go lucky attitude. I go up and down as far as my attitude. I tend to get down on myself more then praise myself. I have a special needs daughter that has some really difficult behaviors and that doesn't help the mood. emoticon
I live in Western Massachusetts and the cold and snowy weather will be fast approaching so getting my treadmill ready for my walks. Lol, I haven't been good about that either. More, I will start on Monday, seems to be the beginning of the week and good time to start, but you know what I've been saying that all summer. You have really SPARKED ME.
You are great! If we can share each other emai I would love to be able to have some private chats and share some other ideas.
Let me know what you think...Luv ya Kathie

Your blogs really cheered me up this morning, not to mention the intriguing job of "Creative Arts Pastor."

Congratulations on making it to Onederland. I hope to be there sometime next year myself. Seems like a long way away, but I know it is made infinitely closer through willingness.

Cheers, Debra

Life would be complete if you could learn to play "Danny Boy" on the (Original) nose flute! emoticon

.....Well, maybe not "complete," but you get the idea!
