It's time....

...to get healthy! Just found out my father has Type 2 diabetes, and as we are "genetic doubles", I need to stop waffling and get in gear. I have a healthy diet already and sound nutritional principles, I just eat too much of that good stuff and am not active enough.

My Goals:
I want to slowly but surely get back to fitness. I want to keep up with my kids and husband right now, and be the Cool Grandma years from now.

My Program:
We've modified our eating to include smaller portions and more fruits and veggies. I'm drinking more water and encouraging everyone else to do this too. I try to do cardio (walking) at least six days a week, 30 minutes or more. I also am doing a beginning strength training program which I try to do five days a week.

Personal Information:
I am a native Oregonian, living right now in NSW, Australia. We're here for at least two more years while our two kids finish high school.
I love reading, travelling, history....and would love at some point to become involved in "living history" and historical clothing construction.

Thanks for the weight lifting gloves! I am looking forward to pulling out those old Firm videos (yes - videos) when I'm finally released to lift some weight. Right now I have another 6 weeks before I can lift anything, so those videos will be a good reentry to weight lifting. I miss it!
