EXACTLY! I think my body is just carb sensitive as well. I could not out train my diet and it was wearing down my motivation to work so hard in the exercise department and not see the results on the scale or measuring tape. It was gain 5 lose 2, gain 3 lose 5....then gain 8, so very tiring. Before I was doing the Atkins protein shakes, but I think my body processes those as carbs and sugar...so I have eliminated them this time around and am choosing real foods. Please keep me posted in your journey and I'll do the same...looking forward to seeing major results for both of us. Next week I will definitely kick my exercise up...mainly strength training to maintain muscle that was built and just walking trails while the weather is good. I'll probably become a gym rat again in the fall, lol!

How many carbs do you have per day? I have heard of the butter or oil in coffee thing and when I first heard about it was like...uh..no way, but I think I am going to try it! I am more of a tea drinker than coffee but every now and again (especially for a natural boost of energy) I enjoy a cup. I thought that part of my life was over because I love southern sweet tea and my coffee with sugar and cream...probably more of those items than coffee, but I am open to trying. I have to make this work long term!

Okay all sounds good and motivational! My friend and I had done the Atkins diet about 2 years ago and I lost 30 pounds, so I am hoping for that and more this time around. I did a lot of research, trial and error since the beginning of this year and this way of eating has given me the most success. I have lost about 5 pounds myself, so feeling good. I read that you don't go into full ketosis until a few weeks into the diet plan. My hope is to give it true try until 7/31 and check my results. At this point the only "healthy" oil has been olive oil and then garlic butter plus the natural fats in the proteins I am eating. Thus far I have been keeping my fats around 65% of my diet, carbs 5% and proteins 30....do you find that you are eating less?

How's the Low Carb lifestyle going? I don't know if you got my other comment about the details of your diet...what exactly is Keto in relationship to low carb in general? I see that you are still working out...I plan to step that back up but wanted to avoid migraines while I adjust to the withdrawals from carbs. Are you seeing success? emoticon

It's going well...just trying not to get caught up in summer activities and the food choices that come with them. I'll pray that your health is blessed and that it all works out for your good!
