MY CURRENT JOURNEY (March 2013):

A few weeks ago my husband and I went to Orlando for a theme park vacation. I didn't fit in the "normal" seat of one of the roller coasters and had to ride it in the "modified" seat. While at the time I wasn't as upset as I would expect from myself, since being back it has really bothered me.

I'm tired of being unhealthy, fat, and out of shape. I hope that this was, to quote my favorite Disney ride (Figment), the "one little Spark of inspiration" I need to stick with it this time.

SPARKPEOPLE ROUND 2 (July 2013 Update):

I started at the end of March by planning to stick with fewer calories and working out consistently for 17 weeks. I chose 17 because it is an important number for me and my husband (we met on the 17th, he proposed on the 17th, and we got married on the 17th). Plus it was small enough that it seemed in reach, and long enough that I hope to build healthier habits.

It is the end of 17 weeks. I consistently worked out, but did not consistently stick to fewer calories. I've lost about 6 pounds.

NEW PLAN (July 22, 2013):

I have to commit to tracking calories and sticking with a range. I have the commitment to exercise; now I have to commit to a healthier lifestyle all around. I find this easier to break into smaller goals so for 17 weeks my plan is to:

Lose approximately 1 pound/week.

Stay within the given calorie range/day.

Track calorie intake.

Cardio exercise 3 times /week for 60 minutes.

Update 03/11 ~ In temporary maintenance mode since December. Will reset goals on 3/17.

Continue on this journey until I reach my overall goal weight:

- Stay within the given calorie range/day.

- Track calorie intake.

- Cardio exercise 3 times /week for 60 minutes.
