Fighting to be healthy

I am a hardworking career woman. A loving wife. The walker/feeder of the furry minions that rule my house. A knitting fanatic. A book lover.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in my early twenties and hit 300 pounds by the time I was 21 years old. It took me a few years of research and finding a good doctor to figure out how to lose weight with PCOS and insulin resistance but here I am doing it. The number on the scale doesn't concern me as much as how I feel every day. I just want to be ...

It took me a few years of research and finding a good doctor to figure out how to lose weight with PCOS and insulin resistance but here I am doing it. The number on the scale doesn't concern me as much as how I feel every day. I just want to be healthy and get rid of my PCOS symptoms!!

Check out my blog where I write almost daily on PCOS and losing weight. www.Findingaskinnierme.blogspot.com

emoticon Great to see your Spark Friend, emoticon KACEYSW as The Motivator of the Week. emoticon

I have learned so much from Richard Bernstein M.D. who wrote "the Diabetes Solution" on Insulin Resistance. He has a complete chapter on PCOS in his book (I got it at the library) and he has excerpts of the book on his web site. Dr. Bernstein sees 95% of his patients with Type 2 diabetes and 5% with Type 1 like he has. Yes, he has had diabetes since he was 12 and he is a healthy 78 now. He has a series of 18 lectures on YouTube that are very good.
