"Life is not about finding yourself, Life is about creating your self"

(Hi, I have been over weight for way... to long.. it is time to get rid of this weight and keep it off and live. I am looking at some options that are out there.) ... (2014) I said this in January 2010. I was 330lbs and I was the most unhappy, depressed person I knew. I had to do something I was looking for a quick fix but I knew that was not the answer but I sought out surgery.

I had to do something I was looking for a quick fix but I knew that was not the answer but I sought out surgery.
After finding out I could not have the surgery due to a medical problem I knew I had to do something and that is when things changed I was serious It was die young of obesity or live and I wanted to live.. I found spark that year in April I had already lost 30 lbs and I knew I needed support but I found much more.. not only from the professional staff of spark but the community that is here not sure how many members are on spark but these members will be there for you through everything.. to me they are not members they are my virtual life line which I plug into everyday of my life for motivation, support and encouragement that is why I am still here that is why I have lost 100lbs the spark way.. NO the road was not all smooth and paved with pillows there where detours, pot holes , traffic jams and down right roads under construction but one thing for sure is I did not have to travel it alone and I still don't.. I have Spark and the wonderful community.

Saying that dropping under a 1000 calories is for people who haven't ever dieted before is like saying that cement overshoes are for people who've never drown before. Yeah, they haven't done it before, but the results are guaranteed to be disastrous.

You and I are both fighting against the foolish mistakes of our youth: Slim Fast, Atkins, juice fasts, cabbage diets, dabbling with bulemia, the whole nine yards. But the answer to many foolish decisions is *not* more foolish decisions. We can't completely undo the damage that we've done, but it's much easier to do more damage than it is to break the cycle.

The problem with breaking the cycle is that it seems like accepting defeat, like we are accepting that we will never be thin. And in some ways, it is. We are never going to be the shapely 20-somethings we were - briefly, between yoyoing back up. But that's the case in any event. It's just not going to happen, and we still have trouble believing it in spite of years and years of evidence: our own bodies! We are not going to be the 5%.

So we have a choice: continue to damage our health, hate ourselves, and probably keep getting heavier; or work on repairing our health and our metabolisms, accept--nay, love--ourselves, and maybe find a lower natural setpoint as we get our metabolisms moving again. It's never going to be back to skinny, but it can be at the optimal of health we can achieve for ourselves.

I'm aiming for the second, and I urge you to, as well. Nobody takes good care of what they hate, so love yourself.

"Progress. Just make progress. It's okay to have setbacks and the need for do-overs. It's okay to draw a line in the sand and start over again --- and again.
Just make sure you're moving the line forward. Move forward. Take baby steps, but at least take steps that keep you from being stuck. Then change will come.
And it will be good."

“So much of what goes on with eating patterns is mind over matter.
If you say, 'I can't resist this,' you're absolutely right.
If you say, 'I can handle anything,' you'll also be absolutely right.”
