"Life is not about finding yourself, Life is about creating your self"

(Hi, I have been over weight for way... to long.. it is time to get rid of this weight and keep it off and live. I am looking at some options that are out there.) ... I had to do something I was looking for a quick fix but I knew that was not the answer but I sought out surgery.

I had to do something I was looking for a quick fix but I knew that was not the answer but I sought out surgery.
After finding out I could not have the surgery due to a medical problem I knew I had to do something and that is when things changed I was serious It was die young of obesity or live and I wanted to live.. I found spark that year in April I had already lost 30 lbs and I knew I needed support but I found much more.. not only from the professional staff of spark but the community that is here not sure how many members are on spark but these members will be there for you through everything.. to me they are not members they are my virtual life line which I plug into everyday of my life for motivation, support and encouragement that is why I am still here that is why I have lost 100lbs the spark way.. NO the road was not all smooth and paved with pillows there where detours, pot holes , traffic jams and down right roads under construction but one thing for sure is I did not have to travel it alone and I still don't.. I have Spark and the wonderful community.

Hello Anita! I hope that you've been having a good weekend. I'm doing pretty good, trying to make wise food choices and to exercise more too. I have to tell you this about what to expect with having a knee replacement. I've never given birth, but I can tell you what my Mama always told me when I was growing up and asking all those "Girly" questions. That giving birth is having pain, but you keep thinking of the beautiful child that you get in return. So yes, the knee replacement is painful for those first weeks, but you are put on strong narcotics, and I can say that that was the best couple of weeks for me, because the narcotics masked my RA pain more than the RA medicine I usually take. But one can't live on narcotics alone, but you'll find that the strong meds. really make those weeks tolerable and also when you do feel pain it's all from the surgery and the incision and what they had to do to give you the new knee. That is a much better type of pain then the arthritis pain I had to endure before. I knew as soon as I could start feeling that new pain after the surgery. It was welcomed so much more than that horrific arthritic pain! And that pain little by little goes away. I have virtually no pain in that knee now. I love it and you will too. Have I told you about the Hip/Knee Replacement team here on SP? It is wonderful! Those people help you understand about the surgery, before and after! They all made me feel so much better. I know that I went through the surgery alot better because of them helping understand. Have a great week ahead!
