My Goals:
To get to know God in a more intimate way.
To get down to a "normal" BMI.
To "find" myself as I transition from full time mom to an empty nester.
To recapture my dreams and live my life to the fullest.
To be able to run a 5K again.

My Program:
When I started my healthy lifestyle journey my weight was 286 pounds, and I was completely sedentary. Much of the food I was consuming was fast food or packaged prepared foods, and other quick and easy choices. The first thing I did was to cut out most of my fast food consumption. Next I added in drinking more water. Finally I added in exercise to the equation (thanks to Spark Guy and his "you can do 10 minutes" concept) Now I am down almost 40 pounds, and a few sizes. I love the energy I have, and the ability to do so many more things!

1. I am going to track my food. "If I bite it, I write it" is my new motto...
2. I am going to measure my food.
3. I am going to keep on eating healthy foods, but control my portion sizes.
4. I am going to exercise at least 10 minutes a day, every day. And I am only going to count it as meeting my goal if it is something that I am doing just to exercise.

Other Information:
"Most people live and die with their music still unplayed. They never dare to try." Mary Kay Ash

I am going to live my life to it's fullest extent, I am going to get off the sidelines and start playing again.

Stay strong--some bunny is hopping around with baskets full of chocolate eggs, peanut butter eggs, and jelly beans today!

I broke my best time by .1 which I had set in the morning...LOL
Made it 1.2 miles without stopping. My time was pretty crappy but the wind had picked up and I had been awake since 3:30 a.m. I think I was more tired than I thought to start with. But I'll take any gains where I can.
Today HAS to be my day off. I've been going strong since April 5th without a break. I think my muscles need it.
Hope you have a great day
Dee
Thanks so much for the Easter basket. I love it.

Congrat's on losing 2 lbs... emoticon emoticon
That is awesome! emoticon I'm sure the folks at the VA will enjoy your music! That's so nice of you all to do that. emoticon
Our high temp for yesterday was 39 degrees. Things don't melt too fast at that temp.
It didn't stop me from planting in the greenhouse. I figure it's got to warm up soon or later.
I think that was Russ Anderson who posted that snow video. He's my cousin's neighbor and good friend. I had the chance to meet him last summer when I went down for my Uncles Birthday.
I've been sitting here looking at my calendar trying to figure out the best course of action for the rest of the 5K training. SparkPeople has me going from a walk 1 minute run 4 minutes...repeat repeat...then for Week #4 they have you running for 35 minutes non stop. That seems like a HUGE jump. Maybe it's me but I just don't think I can go from 4 minutes to 35. So you see my dilemma? But it's not to say I have or will be able to run the whole race. I just want to do my best.

So I think I'm going to change it up a tad. What do you think of this:
Continue to add miutes to the 1st Run...like today I ran 13.5 minutes...
maybe do 15 minutes next time and walk/run what I can after that to get my 3 miles in. It just seems better than going straight to running 35/40 minutes
Enjoy your sunshine!!
