I'm an American PhD student in England :) When I first came here, I lost a lot of weight, but now I've hit a plateau (a very long one!) I want to be healthier, to look and feel better, and to have a more active lifestyle. I'm hoping that SparkPeople will help me stay motivated and provide the boost I need to get over this plateau! Update: Getting engaged in May 2011 gave me the push to finally commit to losing weight. The first 10 lbs came off quickly and easily, but ...

Update: Getting engaged in May 2011 gave me the push to finally commit to losing weight. The first 10 lbs came off quickly and easily, but then I slacked off and hovered around the same +/- 3 lb mark for months. Finally, in March 2012, I started taking it more seriously again. I've been doing the 30 Day Shred and tracking my food again, and another 10 lbs has come off in the past 12 weeks. It's been hard, and I've realised that there's no easy way to do this--if you want results, you have to work for them!

My Goals:
1) Fit into my gorgeous wedding gown! The wedding is on 6 Sept, 2012 :) 2) Get down to a healthy, "normal" BMI, which for my 5'8" height means 122-164. I've set 150 as a goal, but would be happy to take it even lower than that!
My Program:
Exercise: --Jillian Michaels DVDs (30 Day Shred, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism) (4-5x/week) --Running (1-2 x/week) --Salsa dancing every Tuesday night --Swimming every other Friday Food: --Aim for 5-a-day of fruit and veg --Increase protein, especially at breakfast --Have healthy snacks on hand (Graze has been brilliant!) --Aim for 80 oz (4 pint glasses) of water a day
