A few years ago the TV show "NOVA" had a program about running the Boston Marathon. They took 12 out-of-shape people and trained them for 9 months. What they found was by five months they were able to run a HALF marathon and then when they trained another 4 months and did the full marathon, they had gotten injuries or they had only gained 10% more in health benefits. So the conclusion for the study through Tufts Medical School was that a HALF marathon gave 90% of the health benefits and had much less injury concern.

Glad you did your HALF and be proud of yourself, as it was enough.
