    Sleep deprivation is not good for multiple reasons, but did you know it could be one of the culprits that is making you gain weight? Sleep deprivation has an impact on cognitive restraint. When you are overly tired, foods that are high-fat and high-calorie can be even more tempting and because you are deprived of the proper amount of sleep, you may not be able to restrain yourself like you would if you are rested. According to Columbia University researchers sleep deprivation can lead to more calories consumed. They found that women who only got 4 hours sleep the night before ate 329 more calories in a nine-hour period compared to those who weren't sleep deprived. They found that men ate 263 more calories when sleep-deprived. So get the proper amount of sleep and keep your calorie consumption down.
