100+/- lbs down & 15 or so lbs to go!
October 2007 at 240lbs I decided to live a healthier lifestyle. My doctor confirmed my highest recorded weight with him was 250lbs in May 2007. I joined SparkPeople.com at 172lbs with 45 more lbs to lose to reach my goal weight in December 2008. I was always the chubbier kid growing up. I was made fun of endlessly. I joined SparkPeople.com at 172lbs with 45 more lbs to lose to reach my goal weight in December 2008. I was always the chubbier kid growing up. I was made fun of endlessly. That didn't help with my self-confidence much. I remember thinking I was so fat in Junior High at 150lbs! What I would do to be that weight now...LOL! (I finally made it past that 150lb mark...WOO HOO!!!!) I graduated High School weighing in at 185lbs. I remember weighing myself at a friend's house. We were talking about gaining the freshman 15 at college. I swore to myself, that I would never let myself hit 200lbs!!!! LOL....yeah right! I was 240lbs by the time I graduated college in 2001. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in 2001. This was slowing down my metabolism, which is why my weight consistently was rising year by year. Combine that with poor dietary habits, and BANG....240lbs. My doctor had built me up to 100mcg of Levothyroxine per day up until 2008. However, the majority of my symptoms were not going away. Thanks to the Thyriod Community team, I learned of a new drug that may suit my condition better. My doctor changed me over to Armour a week after I signed up with SparkPeopel.com. At first he put me on 60mg, with the retesting of my blood I have been pushed up to 90mg. We'll see how I do with retesting 5 weeks out at that dose. He told me that there were already some improvements, so things can only get better from here! My Goals:

My Program:
I weight train several days a week and do cardio with an occasional yoga on the other days. There are only 2 to 3 days a week I'm not at the gym. You can find my weight training program mapped out in my blog section, as well as how I started out with my diet.

I'm a 31 year old born and raised in NH. Just Sparks mail me if you want to chat about something privately!
Other Information:
I started with a 1200 calorie a day diet in October of 2007. Then I had worked my way up to a 1600-1875 calories a day plan with a goal of hitting 100 to 160 grams of protein. Now with the Robert Kennedy Contest, I'm striving for 1250 to 1450 calories a day.
