If pounds were quilts - I'd give 50 away in a minute. Well as of 9/24/14, I have virtually given 34 away! Woo Hoo!

I recently retired from teaching elementary school for 30 years. I am looking forward to new beginnings. I teach math part-time at our local community college. I live at home with DH and 2 darling, wonderful, marvelous Abyssinian kitties. Are there any other kind?

Goodbye 2013 - you have been a good year for me. I have gotten rid of 20 pounds and maintained it. (I hate the word "lost"! That implies that I want to find it!) Not to onederland as of yet, but it came on slowly and needs to come off slowly. I am getting used to being lighter!

Hello 2014! With the support of family, friends, and sparkers, I know I will become fit by the end of the year. I hope to be in "onederland" this year too! I can do this! Heck we all can do this! To fitness and beyond!

One Day at a Time Goals:

1. 7500 steps a day
2. 2000 steps before noon
3. Follow DASH diet
4. Quilt hour a day
5. Eat a freggie with every meal/snack

1. Walk an average of one mile a day, with a goal of 5 hours per week.

I live in northeastern California with my husband of 30 years and two cats.

I'm addicted to quilting and laughing. I love reading young adult novels, especially fantasy.

Because you asked about my green smoothie, here it is.

My morning green smoothie (peach)
***************************************
365 Frozen Peaches, 0.75 cup
Chobani greek nonfat vanilla yogurt, 2 oz
Silk cashew milk unsweetened, 8 oz (25 calories)
Spinach, fresh, 1.5 cup
Kale, fresh (1/4 cup), 2 serving
365 Psyllium Husk, 1 tbsp
Chia Seed (Nutiva) 1 Tbsp (60 calories, 3g protein, 5g fiber - optional)
Purely inspired plant protein shake, 1 tbsp
Sprinkle cinnamon and turmeric liberally
blend well (add water if it is too thick)

total cal: 292
total carb 38
Total fat 7
total protein 20
fiber 16
