JOHAL52 is still in a holding pattern over life. But that's okay--sometimes holding patterns can lead to growth--it's up to me :) -- Her status for 2Aug11 -- A small comment that speaks volumes.

My Goals:
To exercise more, get more toned, and get to a healthier weight. I would like to stave off any joint problems in legs and hips.

Another goal which I have is to get rid of a lot of the "stuff" I possess, way more than I need to have.

My Program:
Portion Control - although I haven't been real successful in doing this, I am more aware of what portions are and try to stick with them most of the time.

I use the nutrition tracker and follow no particular weight loss diet, just try to get more freggies, less carbs and fat. I have been customizing the "my favorites" list to include the foods I use the most. I have been also making use of the exercise tracker, getting at least 10 minutes of cardio every day. I try to do some strength trainig 3 days a week.

Personal Information:
I live in Northeastern Montana. I work more than full time at a desk job. I spend way too much time on the computer...

Jan, 2016 -- All of this still holds true.

Other Information:
Am a cat person. Like to knit, sew, quilt, garden -- but don't seem to get much of them done.

2/24/2013 -- Several fiber craft people have been meeting during lunch hour once a week to work on projects, visit, and show off our latest projects. We also share techniques when someone has a problem with their project. Some are also starting into spinning using drop spindles.

Started Tuesday! I take out a hot meal in the evening and pack lunches for Nick to pick up on his way out to whereever they are cutting. He lives in Havre too. Some times I have to drive out and drop off lunch but it's no biggie. Actually easier because of all the ice and beverages I have to haul so two trips is better for me but they all think it's too much. Yeah, it's about 35 miles???? Hello??? This is MT??

Fed the Indian Tacos tonight that I got at the senior center since that is one of their fund raisers during the fair-except they do it at the center now because they couldn't get enough volunteers to man the booth for the required noon to midnight anymore. So it's a great choice since it supports a good cause and also means I didn't have to slave over a hot stove. Did bake a blueberry pie but that was early morning.

Just as I was packing up the car yesterday we got pounding rain. Had quit about 3 miles later when I drove past WalMart and then even the ground was dry before Kremlin. We were harvesting north of Gildford and they said no rain at all but had watched the big storm clouds move through really fast. Weather warnings were for Box Elder and Big Sandy and Kennilworth and then headed to Blaine County. Think it's supposed to cool down on Sat but it's been breezy so not so bad...and the breeze at least keeps the bugs away. We have been invaded in our neighborhood with 3 kinds of wasps. It's horrifying out in the yard on a hot no-wind day!!

More in a couple of daze. Just trying to get back into the swing of this...takes me a few daze to get back into the rhythm. Took my mom out tonite to see this year's winter wheat. It's between waist and shoulder high in some places? Amazing stuff...and 2 neighbor farms are growing lentils and some kind of peas so will be interesting to see how they harvest those. Bet there will be a few days break between winter wheat and spring wheat. Lots of the spring looks pretty green!

"Never neglect the little things. Never skimp on that extra effort, that additional few minutes, that soft word of praise or thanks, that delivery of the very best that you can do. It does not matter what others think, it is of prime importance, however, what you think about you. You can never do your best, which should always be your trademark, if you are cutting corners and shirking responsibilities. You are special. Act it. Never neglect the little things.”

Sounds like harvest will start for me (cooking for the crew) on Wednesday. The wheat around his Gramma's place near Kremlin was 100% hail loss and damage in a couple other fields so will be a shorter harvest than most-even though he still has to cut it all not the big push.

I went to GTF to pick up my mom and her friend from the airport. Their cruise ship landed in Seattle yesterday from the AK trip. She said it was pretty good but wouldn't do it again. I'm a weirdo but those big cruise ships have just never appealed to me. I like road trips with no real schedule. So I was teasing them yesterday about getting them home in time for the Demo Derby in Chinook. It's crazy they have their fair one weekend and ours in the next and then the State Fair in GTF the following week? I used to love the pig races where they had the young pigs race around a little track for an oreo cookie. So I guess we'll all LOL about the pig races today. Won't be too hot and we'll only stay about 1 1/2 hours but at least get to see some of the stuff and support the 4H booth.

I can't believe the food doesn't even appeal to me anymore but know I'll be eating a pronto pup on Thurs or Friday at the Havre fair. Everywhere else in the world calls them corn dogs??? I used to love the Vikings but since the Sons of Norway gave their booth to the Northern Football players they aren't even close and not good at all. And why did I ever think cotton candy tasted good?

Yeah, I could use that fast food cow or a couple sheep or goats to come and work in my yard. I got the front yard done but it took a long time with several passes and lots of cussing on my part. Now the back needs doing so hopefully can get it done when we get back from Chinook. Should have done it last night but was just tired. We only got a little rain and the wind had evaporated most of that...and it's supposed to heat up this week with no rain...so lots of wasps and skeeters???
emoticon Hope you have a great week! Gotta go put a new battery in my old car that I use for harvest. Want to get it done before it heats up out there!
