April at the zoo for my 3.5 hour walk...1/2 of it was uphill!! Was so worth it for this meerkat photo. He was such a little poser. I get inspired to walk a lot more when I can get great photos!

Hello Sparkpeople!

I have been on every diet there is out there and I have weighed the same (up or down 5 lbs.) for the past 16 years! I'm 47 now and would really like to be down to my goal of either 170/175 in the next few months, but I have been struggling for years and years. I hope this site can help me. My daughter is heading down my path and I don't want her to end up like me, so I need to get my eating under control so she can too.

My goals:

1) Take it 1 -day-at-a-time.
2) Blog daily.
3) Track my food daily.

All of which I hope will lead my to my last goal:

4) Go from a size 20 to 12.

My Program:
I am going to try and eliminate sugar and carbs. I need to concentrate more on fruit, veggies and protein. Since my father died from mad cow disease, I really want to limit the meat in my diet, so learning about other proteins will be tough, but I really want to do it.

Good luck to all of you on your journeys to reaching your goals!! I'm right there with 'ya, facing similar struggles and temptations. I definately understand, as many others here know too, it's going to be tough, but WE CAN DO IT!! We are all in this together here. :)

How did the move go? I hope it went well. I know it is difficult to eat healthy when you are moving. I'm doing well on my "The Biggest Loser" diet plan. It was rough the first few days (going through withdraw from sugar, processed foods, etc.) but I'm starting to get past it now.

Hi, I noticed you Blog entry on the Blog feed, and we have some things in common: we are both on Day 6, we are both around the same weight, we both are aiming for around the same goal weight, and we are both 47 (well I'll be 47 for 15 more days anyway), and been trying to lose for about the time amount of years!

Just wanted to stop by and encourage you! I am Day 6 of doing Weight Watchers, and so far so good -- my home scale shows a little over a 5 lbs loss so far! I am very excited about that!
