If I want the change to be, it has to start with me

Slow and steady wins the race. After some re-evaluation, I can see that this is my biggest issue when I try to lose weight - changing too much too fast, then not being able to stick with it. I'm down nearly 20 lbs. from this time last year, right after having my second child, so that's not an awful place to start from. Another 25 down and I'll be back in normal BMI, so let's shoot for that.

WHY am I shooting for this? Because I want to feel stronger and more fit. Because I want to be healthier. And because I want my children to see me as a healthy role model.

And as a reminder to myself, here are my awards along the way:
168 (by Labor Day): new sneakers (need them pretty badly!)
163 (by Oct. 7): a new fitness DVD
158 (by Veterans' Day): a new charm for my bracelet
153 (by Dec. 16): a new Diamond candle
148 (by New Year's or thereabouts): clothing shopping the after-Christmas sales for my new size!

Every little change I make will be a step in the right direction, and everything (EVERYTHING!) I do is a choice. Some bad decisions will happen, and that's ok (another thing I must remember). I just need to make the next choice a good one.

-1250-1550 calories/day

- At least 10 minutes of exercise a day (preferably 20 minutes or more), cardio nearly every day and strength training 3-4x a week.
