Angie's Weight Loss Journey

My name is Angie. I have been overweight for the last 15 years. I have tried to lose the weight several times now, but have lost the motivation when the stresses of life are bad. This time I want to succeed in reaching a healthly weight and lifestyle.

I am the mother of three beautiful children; one with autism and one with adhd. These children are my motivation for becoming healthy. I want to be a good example to them. I want to be active as a family- going to for hikes and bike ...
My name is Angie. I have been overweight for the last 15 years. I have tried to lose the weight several times now, but have lost the motivation when the stresses of life are bad. This time I want to succeed in reaching a healthly weight and lifestyle.

I am the mother of three beautiful children; one with autism and one with adhd. These children are my motivation for becoming healthy. I want to be a good example to them. I want to be active as a family- going to for hikes and bike rides and eating healthy foods. I want them to see that if you set small attainable goals, you can succeed.

This is my third, and last, time starting sparkpeople. I am committed to this lifestyle change. I can't wait to see how I will look and feel as I lose weight and get healthy.

I got to my first weight loss goal- lose 10% of my body weight to hit 176 lbs!

On November 3, 2013 - NO LONGER OBESE! BMI 29.9

My Goals:
1. Track food daily. Aim for a good balance between fiber, protein, carbs, and fat.
2. Exercise for at least 10 minutes 5 days a week.
3. Try one new healthy recipe a week.
4. Finish the skinny jeans challenge!
5. Make it to my next small goal of 158 lbs.


My Program:
I am taking my lunch break at work and going for a 1-2 mile brisk walk. I am also doing 10 minutes of strength training 5 days a week.

I am doing the skinny jeans challenge.

Personal Information:
I love music. I am a piano teacher, a church pianist, and choir director.
I love teaching all students, but especially love teaching kids with learning disabilities, and autism.
